Soogees #2 puzzle trail

its started woo :D

http://www.soogees.com/s2/

hmm, doesn't that look familiar!

it looks to be from arkelesh-ascendant trail and the answer deoxyribose.htm gives a "Wrong Answer. This is not Akalesh Ascendant. This is not even DNA."

another wrong turn:

the coloured molecules are guanine and adenine or, G and A.
http://www.soogees.com/s2/start/ag.htm gives us "What, no sugar?"

and another:

http://www.soogees.com/s2/start/ribose.htm
"Wrong answer. There's more than that."

[S2] Call for Submissions

A month has passed since the first Soogees trail ended, and I think it's time to start preparing for the next one.

This time it'll be a community effort, so anybody can contribute puzzles. This is where you come in: If you have a puzzle, be it a basic concept or completed page, send it my way. Send me a private message with anything you have and we'll work it into the next Soogees.

When is S2? Depends on how soon I get the puzzles from you guys.. but for those who can't work without a deadline: ALL SUBMISSION MUST BE RECEIVED BEFORE APRIL 11 2005.

I'd also like to remind you that anyone can get free space to post their own complete trails on soogees, with their own FTP access and subdomain. Again, just message me.

Can't wait to see what you come up with 8)

[S1] The End!

Thank you for playing soogees! I hope you enjoyed solving the puzzles as much as I enjoyed making them.

The fact is, I created soogees because *I* had nothing better to do. I figured since I had a few puzzle ideas scribbled around, I might as well put them to good use and torture some poor souls :-)

I really had fun with this! Who knows, maybe we'll have more soogees in the future!

If you have any questions I'll be more than happy to answer them.

Thanks again! You all did a great job. :-)

Soogees Puzzle Trail

As bill posted here

I got an anonymous email to deaddrop pointing me there and lo and behold, a puzzle trail! I started a channel on chat-sol, creatively named #soogees

Game on!

And so, now onto the game.

----

The first page is www.soogees.com/alice.htm

It's a bunch of ROTs from Alice in Wonderland

Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, `and what is the use of a book,' thought Alice `without pictures or conversation?'

So she was considering in her own mind (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a white rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her.

There was nothing so very remarkable in that; nor did alice think it so very much out of the way to hear the rabbit say to itself, `oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be late!' (When she thought it over afterwards, it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it all seemed quite natural); but when the rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on, alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a rabbit with either a waistcoat-pocket, or a watch to take out of it, and burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it, and fortunately was just in time to see it pop down a large rabbit-hole under the hedge.

In another moment down went alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again.

This is from the chapter Down the rabbit-hole, leading us to www.soogees.com/rabbithole.htm

----

Next is a chatlog:

* pete(pete@best.com) quit (read error: 104 (connection reset by peer))
where'd he go?
????
dunno
so what do we do now?????
I think you already Know

Checking out the capitalized letters: TRERDNNGAEIK

It spells: KINDERGARTEN

So, it's off to www.soogees.com/kindergarten.htm

----

Next is a maze with a little message:

Blue Red Yellow that's
how I hid my snack
Find my path and
never look back

[META] Kudos

I've already said thanks to the PMs (puzzlemasters?) in the trail thread for teaching me RSA encryption today, but something else occurred to me just now for which I'd also like to give them props. I really like the fact that the puzzles not only have hints to their solves built into their initial presentation, but they include other thoughtful hint pages at likely locations to direct us back on track if we veer off a bit. Both the maze and sierra puzzles had these and I really appreciate that. There's nothing worse than getting stuck in a cognitive loop and having no clue what you're really supposed to be doing. So thanks again, yo! :D
