Ok, i think that the saddest part of the whole AotH thing was: I didn't discover Unfiction until the whole game was OVER. And i didn't discover this until...NOW. Waaah!

Thanks to everyone who worked on AotH! I'll be a-waiting AotH2!

(oh, and HaxanMike, in reply to you're avatar, i have one thing to say. My Spoon's too big!)

That was a real cop -- we were not allowed to reference or show any real police in the campaign.

im wondering if that cop that turned up in chicago and freaked porta-lou out was an actor, or was real :)

Well, it was a very real looking car, and given that the Chicago PD rarely allows real-looking cars to be used in movies, I'm inclined to think it was a real cop. Lou certainly looked suspicious lurking in the shadows for hours on end during a rainstorm.

But I did ask what was actually supposed to happen at Coachella.

Oh, man. I'm sure Mike will have a long-form at one of the future PM chats, but the short form is that you should have been momentarily confused by two cards, you should have had a glimpse of characters in the flesh you hadn't seen before, and you should have snagged an SD card. Lots of production problems interfered with that.

And as a result, a huge chunk of the story got rewritten from that point on as we incorporated the lack of that SD card into a story (that even had a whole new villian.) So don't think for a second that interactions didn't have a huge impact on the direction of the story (although sometimes in less than obvious ways than you might imagine.)
Heheh, yeah, the fight thing was the only thing I heard was supposed to happen at Coachella. I guess one of the actors had a friend at the party and this friend started to tell Laura the whole plot... "That's my friend... there's supposed to be a fight in front of the car... this is all part of some game, etc." Darnit... it would have been a good staged fight too.

Okay, I really want to go to bed, but I can't sleep. So here's something else I asked about... Perhaps HaxenMike would like to jump in on this if I get something wrong or if there's anything to expand on...

But I did ask what was actually supposed to happen at Coachella.

So what was going to happen was that two of us were going to start a loud argument, or perhaps even a fight to distract the security guard at Nisha's direction. Before we could put the plan in motion, the Goons were going to show up. So then we were going to start a fight, and also Laura and/or I were going to spill drinks on the goons to distract them while the 5th person, prolly Jane, was going to snag the card from the now unattended car.

What happened, they said, was they were added on as an afterthought to the party, so they kept getting mixed signals over what they could and couldn't do when and in which part of the party. Then the whole URBS giving out to many passes riot happened. And things kept getting pushed back and pushed back...

Then we showed up unannounced.

So we rather made their choice for them in a way... I guess.

All the cameras failed... Then, reading how the audio alone wasn't making much sense and was boring (since it was never meant to work without the video) was crushing.

Now I finally understand why I was so baffled by the Chicago event. I listened to that audio several times and I couldn't understand what Gunter was trying to do. "like a ....fish....in the sky" ??

But, you know, I think the PMs and the players deserve credit for not giving up on live events. I know that I was concerned that the PMs would eliminate all the remaining live events after Coachella basically stopped the story. Then we couldn't find the card in New York; then the rainstorm in Chicago. Happily, the PMs and players stayed the course until the end.

Oh man, I can't believe none of them worked. :( I'm sure it didn't help my camera much when I stepped on the wire when I tried to stand up out of my chair. :(

It definitely would have been cool if it worked.

The damn rainstorm in Chicago screwed everything up.

The setup time was compressed & "Oak" seemed to be rushing a bit to get us set up in time.

I wish I could have had a pocket to put the camera in, putting it on my lower back and then sitting down for 10 minutes probably didn't help things either.

Oh well, it was a great idea.

I'd love to see what you did get! Maybe some video of Lou getting yelled at by Nisha.
All the cameras failed. Definitely the most heartbreaking moment for me was going to the editing suite at 2:00 AM after wrapping out the production and the editor says "all the cameras cut off early but here is the one that went the longest" and then I watched the shot end before the boat even arrived.

Then, reading how the audio alone wasn't making much sense and was boring (since it was never meant to work without the video) was crushing.

We were going to edit the camera shots to show all 4 cameras at once with the audio, similar to the Emden break-in video. Had it worked, it would have been one of the best videos of the campaign, I think.

From the noises made by Mike and Brian when they were talking about the Chicago op, I would assume that the cameras really did fail.
