Sadly after much deliberation this website and the whole ARG have been suspended. There are several reasons why this decision has been made.

Firstly this game was intended to be played on the streets of London, sadly after the events of the 7/7/05 security is now a serious issue. Underground stations were a large part of the game and now obviously they cannot be used.

Secondly the number of players playing "Zoes World" is not enough to constitute us continuing. This game was not a "grassroots" game from the start but this was assumed, we have a budget but not enough to complete the game for a handful of players.

Sadly we have also struggled to get any support from the major ARG websites as they seem absorbed in new games or larger projects, which this could have easily been.

We are very sorry your experience has ended this way. We hope to launch the game once more if its possible, but the current climate online and off-line doesn't permit it.

Personally its been a pleasure working with all of you and I hope to again

hello everyone again. I've been on holiday for the last 6 weeks but I'm back now in time for school next week. I've been trying to catch up on both sleep and ARGs and that leaves me feeling a little lost, especially seeing as the current summary doesn't seem to be entirely current. I have too much to be thinking about ATM, with a guitar exam on the way and school just about to start and 187 emails waithing to be read and bank accounts to open and oyster cards to arrange and uniform to sort out AND MORE, so if someone could just post a list of all the active sites, contacts and blogs, as well as the unsolved puzzles I'll see my way clear of getting back in to Zoe's world too.

Hi all, Russell asked me to start up a new running game summary to pick up where his pre-game summary ended on June 14th. If you're new to the game, you may wish to read Russell's summary first.

On June 16th, after waiting to hear from 'The Resistance' we received an email from J15@pemesent.com with a strange subject "d9h5qd5.tjo" and a rhyming riddle:

copy and paste, needle and face, understand and pace

is little but much. is huge but small, that is all

After much speculation and debate, Labfly found www.pemesent.com/bigben.jpg . She is alive! So maybe Zoe isn't dead after all. This seems to be the solution to the first part of the riddle.

On June 20th, James_G reported receiving a new email from

L@pemesent.com which held an octally coded message that Russell decoded as pointing to www.blogger.com/profile/5730596 which is the profile for blogger Jonzi with www.remotecentral.blogspot.com . Several email dialogues were held with Jonzi, and while he showed an interest in our problems, it was never determined truly whether he was IG or not. As far as I know, why we were pointed to this site was never determined, except possibly dealing with the subject of time travel.

This email also informed us of some evidence that could prove the senders innocence, with the caveat that if we found it "don't browse, but pass it swiftly to me."

After a great deal of being stuck, we finally discovered a mysterious post on the forums of the www.razimus.com site by a mysterious user named passed-by. The thread mentioned Pemesent. In studying the user's profile, we discovered the file p97evidence.zip which was frustratingly password protected. I have a feeling that this zip file was the second part of our rhyming riddle we received earlier.

After much pulling of the hair, we managed to unlock the zip file to discover a text file and 3 picture files. The text file, keyunlockcode.txt seemed to contain security door information. The picture files contained drawings of hand gestures which appeared to be sign language. They were named c4, c6 and c9.jpg which indicates they may be part of an incomplete sequence. Much speculation as to the meaning of the gestures has been discussed, but nothing concrete has been decided. Russell sent an email to 'L' to prove his identity before we would send on the evidence. The reply is mentioned as the end of Russell's thread.

After this, pregame ended.

There were a few small updates to the www.imfriendly.co.uk home page, but mostly indicating that pregame was over and the game would start in September. We prepared for a long and possibly dull summer of waiting for the game to start again.

However, Zoe wasn't about to let us starve for entertainment. On July 20th, we received an email from user45@pemesent.com pointing us to look at www.pemesent.com/download where we found a new file. The message also quoted/forwarded a message from Daniel ( daniel098@hotmail.com, we're assuming ) that was originally addressed to help@pemesent.com .

The file was ref03.zip and contained a jpeg with a yellow background and a zigzag pattern, numbered 3/6. There was also a jpeg of a toy known as a rubik's snake. Indeed, the picture has it struck in a most snake-like pose. There was also a thumbs.db file which has not been determined to contain anything useful (it serves as a thumbnail database in Windows.)

It wasn't long after that Labfly discovered that his Pemesent Web banner on his personal site had changed to the intriguing yellow zigzag, and that when clicked, led to a new picture, a blue background with three stick figures. The outside figures are have x's above their heads, the middle figure is elevated slightly, and has a downward arrow pointing at it's head. The picture is numbered 4/6.

Then, another break as we speculated wildly about the meanings of our two rebus-like images, and the strange snake-toy.

Finally, on August 20th, a new update. Automaton discovered an email from mailbot@mailfromfar.com signed by Ryan. It seemed to be quite the plea for help. Coincident with this email, we noticed some strange behavior on www.pemesent.com. A strange twirling mountain image was breaking through a cheerful picture of people enjoying the fountains at Trafalgar square. An eerie audio sound repeated itself in the background. And strangely haunting messages appeared on the page, pleading for help. The tenement picture now featured a hidden picture triggered by rollover. It featured keys of a manual typewriter overlaid on a piano keys. The links in the sidebar had changed as well, leading to new pages.
the 'ews' in 'News' led to http://www.nyu.edu/classes/siva/archives/000913.html which displayed an interesting story and a couple of pictures of a missing cube sculpture in Astor Place, Manhattan. 'City Info' linked to http://www.colorcube.com/illusions/illusion.htm an informational page on various optical illusions. Finally, 'Travel' linked to http://www.deadmentellnotales.com/onlinetexts/robinson/crusoe.shtml an informational page on Robinson Crusoe, and an e-text of the same.

Not long after, the website returned to normal, with an apology from the web team, ( web_team@pemesent.com for the recent 'hacker' attack. The travel section displays a metro map along with some warnings of maintenance closures. However, it seems that the hacking hasn't completely stopped, as the 'City Info' page was discovered to contain a new picture image, a green background with a circle containing 2 x's, side by side. It appears how someone might draw a dead stick figure head, minus the nose and mouth. The picture is number 5/6. Underneath this picture was a strange 'cipher':

On Aug 26th, a second jpg was discovered, with 4 silvery Z's stacked vertically.

That brings us current.

-The meaning of the 'rebus' images, and the location of the missing 3
-The meaning of the sign language, and the location of the possible missing 6

-The meaning of the rubik's snake picture
-Who is Ryan? Who is Daniel? Is L Leo?

Speculation is that Daisy who dropped the original thread is also megamoo.

In one of the blogs was an essay she had written regarding Dimensions.

There was some coding in the essay providing us with a user name and password which would come in use later on.

A few replys from Zoe were received and the capitals spelt "HELP ME".

A number of us submitted our username and password to the tech support guys as at that time we did not have access to Veo's account. We received a reply back with a message in hex "GIVEITTIME ".

There is a flash programme which contains what looked like many clues, but as yet none have been decoded.

We received back a reply from tech support leading us to:

Using the following solve and some guesswork, we have created an alphabet which the 5th seem to use when they post clues (a few mistakes but it seems to work).

One of the codes was hidden but led to a mirror puzzle which we solved and with a blog update from Zoe and a nudge in the right direction we located:

May 11th - Labfly spotted Razimus' forum had a new email with a hidden message "Your first mission is soon"

May 12th - Spoke to Zoe and discovered that there is more to the May 20th meeting than meets the eye! An email from her to Veo suggests that Leo will be the one passing us the info on the 20th as lond as he isnt eliminated beforehand! Also Leo left a new picture on his Flickr account which has yet to be solved.

May 13th - Leo IM'd Maxsteele via MSN and passed on a message : V and Z are part of operation prove. I am being set up, i am innocent. They have created a fictional threat to cover operation prove. Please meet on the 20th as im not safe to talk like this or via any other means.Leo Seagrave.
More MSN chatting with Zoe revealed that she was lying about a number of things leading to us questioning her intentions.

May 16th - New story on Informant site about.....Hamsters??

May 17th - New story on Informant site about a high ranking General going missing

May 19th - New story on Informant site about a Increase of Dimensional links

May 20th - Jeb, Paulzilla and myself all met up in Covent Garden for the mission. We were approached by somebody who said we should have a number and that "His Masters Voice holds the answer". HMV is a music shop and we realised the number from the Final Instructions was an HMV product code for an album called "Bravery". We went back to the webcam and spotted a woman we thought was the contact we gave her the password and she gave us an envelope each. May 26th - New story on Informant site about a new exclusion zone being set up on the south coast as a new army base.

May 30th - I noticed that the movie in Leos directory had changed names, when i viewed the movie i noticed something new had appeared in it /ghyuiq, leading to http://www.imfriendly.co.uk/leo666/ghyuiq . After many emails and prods, Mudbrother discovered a zipfile which had been posted on the Razimus site. Inside were keycodes to a police HQ and three pictures which we believed to be sign language. We were still working on a solve when we received this:

Its use is simple the one with the lock in the door is harmless to the man with
the key.

Evidence is only of use if it is visible

So if it disappeared no one need know.

I will be free from trial and may continue our mission.

I think it may be *just a bit* important for new players, especially those who have never played an ARG before (comme moi) to leave a thread with a plot summary. I don't know what's going on, I just saw a link on the UnFiction frontpage which I got to after reading a magazine article.
