I too got confused by the "coelbren". And it's not even listed as an errata!

When I put Plafond into Google I got ceiling, so I had a band who sung a song called "No Ceiling" for ages (until I cheated and came here).

Sorry for bringing this up, but I just solved the card and I had some thoughts:

The correct solution assumes that you treat the story as a pointer to a regular clock. The story's a metaphor, but it gets muddled with Sinister and Dexter.

I think it's supposed to be a pun - sinister and dexter are left and right hand, so the two brothers are a pair of hands. This is clearly a pointer to the clock.

It's tortured reasoning, but it's a blue card, so it's not out of the question.

I'm glad you posted this - I got the answer immediately after clocks were mentioned, but then read all the pages of the thread and got confused by the Sinister/Dextra thing, as it does seem to indicate left/right.

Pair of hands... haha! :D

it says the phone number is 1800BARNONE (bar none being the title of [s1]#27). probably nothing to do with anything, since its just a refinancing phone number, but maybe intentional.

If you think of the hem of the main hole of the jumper being equivalent to the outside edge of the pretzel then it's easier to envisage three holes being punched in the continuum of the jumper (head and both arms).

Does that help? I think I talked myself out of understanding that part way through!

Possibly a better way of seeing it -

Hold the card side on so the 3 red lines at the top of the card are on your right. Now tilt the left hand side of the card slowly away from you so you are looking at the card from an angle. When the optimum angle is reached (about 70 degrees in my point of view) the image should become clear!!!

I did get this one right, but I'm not sure I totally understand.

Doesn't the jumper have four holes, and the pretzel only three? Or do the head and waist opening in the jumper count only as one hole? If so, how come the two sleeves don't also count as only one? Am I just overthinking?

I remember my english teacher showing us Princess Bride at school - she showed it to everyone she could, mainly because she knew someone who acted in it. Sadly, my DVD is scratched atm otherwise I would be watching a lot more frequently. But there are a lot of people who know and love The Princess Bride, both book and film.
