Was just doing a search for videos with "alternate reality games" on youtube and it brought up this video that was uploaded just last week... I gather this game has ended now but - thought people might be interested.

As if it wasn't final enough, the supplementary material has been taken down and the splash page has been replaced with a picture of VaporLofts and the words;

Wow... I am so glad this came, but I really wish they went through with the story arc. I've totally fallen out of ARGs but would have come back for this, man!

The florets in the head of a sunflower form two oppositely directed spirals.

This is called Phyllotaxis .

Delusional found that the VaporLofts site was updated recently. Of most direct interest is one particular page

New information and pages published on the site are unfinished supplements and extra (sometimes redundant) material in the Vaporlofts story.

Originally, a second story arc / sequel read more was planned to complement the original storyline and further develop the scope of the Vaporlofts reality from the perspective of The Firekeepers. Plans for future development of this arc have been stopped indefinitely - no new work is planned for release in the Vaporlofts/Firekeepers storyline. The auxiliary directory contains the incomplete page files that were intended to lead up to The Firekeepers and are posted as "bonus" material that might be of interest to the readers of Vaporlofts.

im not sure what it means, but i figured it was worth pointing out.

I was cleaning out all my old contacts in my ARG email account, when I noticed details[-at-]vaporlofts.com. Out of curiosity I decided to send an email. Not really thinking I would get a reply or at most an auto responder I just sent "?" and that's it. Well about four hours later I received this:

"What'd he say to you?"

"Oh... well, about Life being a game and all. And how you should play it according to the rules. He was pretty nice about it. I mean, he didn't hit the ceiling or anything. He just kept talking about Life being a game and all. You know."

"Life is a game, boy. Life is a game that one plays according to the rules."

"Yes, sir. I know it is. I know it."

Game, my ass. Some game. If you get on the side where all the hot-shots are, then it's a game, all right - I'll admit that. But if you get on the other side, where there aren't any hot-shots, then what's a game about it? Nothing. No game.

Now I don't think this is the start of another round of vaporlofts nor do I think we should start bombarding them with emails. I just thought It was kind of interesting so I decided to share it. I am interested in any spec anyone may have regarding it's meaning. Perhaps it's dialog from a book? IDK.

Edit: I knew I recognized that quote, It just took me a bit. It's from:

Whoa! The movie I was talking about was the Rings -style one in the woods with the squatting girl. Isn't that the final video?

Now parts of her life are being erased (like her blog) so its either because she doesn't want to think about it, or VL doesn't want you to think about her. Regardless, unless we are able to make contact with someone, we're at a dead end, and thus this chapter has come to a close for us.

Ah, so it really is just that straight forward? Man, I thought there must be a bunch of stuff that happened that I missed.
