All joking aside, I think it's about time we did a roll call for the Gatecrashers, so . . .
Gatecrasher Macavity, reporting for duty!
A Piece of Bad News

Boo...I'm sad :(

Hello Everyone, it's cl.Brennan.

I do have some bad news to deliver to you all today. While some of you might take this harder than others, I assure you that this does not mean this is the end of the road by any stretch of the imagination. Simply a setback that will take an indefinite amount of time to solve. I'd rather not keep you all in suspense, and make sure that everyone who is following us is fully informed as to our situation and motivations.

For the past few months, we have been working on two games, Section 32: Line of Destruction and JumpCrash, with an all volunteer team. As we said in our manifesto, we are a grassroots group that is looking to change how ARGs are played. However, our goals for the quality of our games is very high. And our motivation and determination to produce two great games has hit a brick wall.

Money.

Sadly, it is money that powers an ARG until completion. And, due to a lack of sponsorship after our sponsorship drives and demo game tests (Falling in Time), we are still unable to find enough sponsors to power our games. Because of this, I can not say when Section 32: Line of Destruction or when JumpCrash will release. It appears that we will be dropping back, ceasing our announcements until things become more clear.

Does this mean it's the end of Chronosis? No, far from it. It is simply an indefinite delay in our plans, one that we must overcome before delivering the product to you, our dedicated players. Once we find the proper amount of sponsorship, we will be overjoyed to finish up our work and deliver everything we have done so far to all of you.

So, with that said, we are shelving the work we have done for JumpCrash and Section 32 and continue to work on both projects slowly, with care, until we can find a sponsor to power our thoughts and ideas.

We will run what we have promised. As we say here at Chronosis: "It all happens in time."

Sincerely,
The Chronosis Staff

However, a good ARG is like an aging wine. It's worth the wait.
:Time Flies, Issue 1 - The Chronosis Newsletter

Time Flies
Chronosis Laboratories Newsletter, Issue 1
-----------------------------
Presented in an easy, text-based format, so your computer doesn't hurt after attempting to bring up the e-mail.
-----------------------------

Hello everyone! It's Seraphina from Chronosis (cl.Brennan), and I have the honor of writing this first newsletter! YAY! What is there to talk about, you ask? Well, there's lots to talk about! Here's some of this week's topics in Time Flies!

* ChronosisCentral - The master website for Chronosis Labs
* Sera's Got a Blog! - The Lead Writer re-institutes her blog, Chronosis style.
* "Quickie" Development - Ever needed a quick ARG fix? Chronosis will make sure you get it.
* Training ARG - No, not like a training bra. A training ARG for new players.
* Producer's Letter: Community Interaction - What Chronosis does where others won't.

Now, let's get into the thick of things!

ChronosisCentral soon to go live!
by cl.Mimic
-----------------------------

Excitement is building over here at the Labs as I'm putting the final touches onto our new website, ChronosisCentral, which will soon replace the Falling In Time website. While the intial website will only have limited functionality, we have big plans for it. Right now the website has all the necessary features to make it look nice, even with options. Flash vs. Non-Flash, so all of those who don't have great internet connections can still partake in the wonder, and a very picture-esque style which is sure to capture your imagination. There's enough content to introduce the projects we're currently working on, who we are, what we plan to do, and things of that nature. Basically, right now, it's your standard business website, just a whole lot more stylized.

Also, there will be information about how to possibly join Chronosis as a grassroots member. Remember, we all came from Grassroots here at Chronosis, and we're not shy about taking on more help. If you would like to give a hand to the team and help with working on our projects, all of the information necessary will be on our website, under the "Join Us" area of the staff section.

After our intial launch of the website, we will be installing a forum so you guys can chat about your favorite games, what you would like to see in a Chronosis production, and chat with staff members. We really want our players to be involved in the creation and execution process, so you get exactly what you want out of a game.

Past that, future upgrades will include introducing the game ID, which you will need to join any one of our great games and will serve as a passport to any Chronosis alternate reality. Also, we hope to introduce personal profile pages for all of you, and perhaps some mini-games? Who knows! The sky is the limit with Chronosis.

Oh... and by the way... I'm very forgetful. Perhaps I forgot to tell you about some of the "special" things in the website? Yes? You'll find it... I know you will.

As for right now, we're finishing up the site and selecting what we want to go into the intial version. We are aware that the previous "Falling In Time" website is down, and it will be back up soon, so please, do not worry!

Sera's Got a Blog!
by cl.Brennan
-----------------------------

For those of you who know me, you know I run a blog called "Pencil, Paper, and Internet". And, you also know that for the past 4 weeks, stupid me hasn't updated it, and I even forgot that I accidentally deleted the pictures that make it looks nice. Whoops...

Well, that's been taken care of. Pencil, Paper, and Internet has gotten an entirely new style and look, and it's going to be updated again with more views on current ARGs, inside looks at how Chronosis works, interviews, and more. I hope to really get into the many many aspects of the genre and cover what I can from inside of my blog, and deliver the news straight to you guys.

If you guys want to check out the Chronosis inspired blog theme (heh... I stole some of cl.Mimic's work and plastered it on my blog...) and see the new content as it rolls out, go to http://pencilpaperinternet.blogspot.com, or if you already have ARGN open, you can go to the ARGroll and click on "Pencil, Paper, & Internet" from there.

Need a Quickie?
by cl.Avalanche
-----------------------------

Hey everyone, it's Avalanche here with some interenting news about what we have going behind the scenes here at Chronosis. And that's the new introduction of the "quickie" ARG.

Now what is a "Quickie" you ask? Well, just as the name implies, it's a short game with only about 2 week lifespan that will be fast paced and keep you glued to your seat, a perfect game to compliment any one of the currently large fares, like Last Call Poker or Perplex City.

Currently my thoughts were to make these games with original characters and universes, only briefly fluttering into your life and then right back out, like most of the people you may meet in real life. However, to compliment these games, Sera has gratefully also complied to our wishes and is bringing back some of her characters from her other writings and past games, like Wildfire Industries, to keep the content varied. I even hear cl.Destroyer has a few ideas up his sleeve as well.

The Quickies that we produce will not be announced on our pages. They will all be stealth launches, as most "purist" ARG fans want them to be. However, after initial investigation, they will appear on our website, under the games section, labeled as "Quickie". If you see that mark, then you know it's going to be a short run and you can plan your games accordingly.

Training ARG?
by cl.Technic
-----------------------------------------
We all know how hard it is to get into the ARG community for some people. They really don't know what to do, where to go, what's going on, what should they investigate, and so forth. That's why we here at Chronosis want to do something different for the sake of the ARGing community, lurkers and hardcore posters alike.

Once we get our legs underneath us, expect to see the website's game section to include a previously unannounced game. This unannounced game will be three things:

1. Easy to Follow
2. Enjoyable to Play
3. Open communication between PMs and Players during the course of the game.

This will be a training game, and there will be no doubts to when it starts, when it ends, and who's behind it. While expert players will find the game easy, we are hopeful that those newer players will find the game challenging and engaging. As the game progresses, we will post summaries of commonly used ARG techniques onto our forums. These techniques will be used in the game for demonstration purposes, and the end result will be an experience that will walk you through the ARG playing process.

When more information about this is available, it will be posted in the "Games" section of the CL website.

Producer's Letter: Community interaction is brought to a new level
by cl.Destroyer
-----------------------------------
After a successful game, the creators and the players of the game commonly sit down with one another and discuss the experience. It's a ritual of the community, and a staple of the end-game process. It is the post-game chat with the PMs.

But after that, what becomes of the PM? Well, they are expected to fade back into the shadows from where they came and begin work on their next creation. No one knows what they're working on, or if it will be a hit or not. But, perhaps, it's time to change that. Quite simply, we're not the puppet masters of the past.

Chronosis Labs wants you. That's right, we want to hear the voices of players. We're not going to stay those mysterious puppet masters and hide ourselves in the darkness! Mimic is working on adding forums to our website, and one of those areas will be a place for you to communicate our thoughts to us. What did you always want to see in an ARG? What did other PMs do that you liked? What are some things others did that you never ever wanted to see in a game again?

Only the players know what they want to see in the game, and we want to bring you the best experience possible. So please, speak up and be heard. We want to know what's going on inside of your head, so we can make our projects some of the best in the industry.

What else makes Chronosis stand out? The fact that we're willing to work for the community and side by side with it. We know where our roots came from, and we're not forgetting it anytime soon. We're going to do our best in delivering quick solid games to you to fill in lulls in the year, we're going to listen when you have things to say to us about what you want to see, and we're going to deliver a training ARG so you can grab all your friends and jump into the fun.

The genre is changing. The players are changing. And it's about time the PMs changed with them.

Well everyone, I hoped you enjoyed this issue! Keep an eye in your inbox for issue 2 some time in the near future!
Chronosis Newsletter - Style Code Engine

Although this is about all of Chronosis' games, I figure this is the best place to discuss this anyway :)

The latest Chronosis newsletter:

Hey everyone, a short announcement from cl.Brennan about the upcoming use of Style Codes!

First of all, if you didn't hear, the Style Code Engine will be going online in about 2 weeks. To celebrate this, we're scattering style codes everywhere, and literally, we mean everywhere. Our online website will become a scavenger hunting ground for style codes. Already there are 2 codes sitting somewhere on that website, waiting to be found. Can you find them? But that's not the only place these style codes will be appearing. You better keep your eyes peeled.

Second of all, we're proud to announce the beginning of Critical Style Codes. What makes these codes so much different from the others? Well, find one and redeem it, and you'll get an offer to claim some free Chronosis swag and other fun prizes instead of the usual sneak peek behind the curtain to see what we're planning back here. So what have you got to lose? Head on over to our message boards and read up on what the Style Codes have to offer!

Third of all, are you a Chronosis Veteran? Have you played a game made by us already? (Including Falling In Time, Wildfire Industries, Project Gateway, and .hack//fragmented_twilight) If you have, then make sure you apply to your game veteran group! Simply log into our forums, go to usergroups, and join the group of the game you participated in. It's that easy! Each game will be receiving their own unique style code, so don't delay and don't miss out!

It's an exciting time here at Chronosis, so be sure to get into the fray!

Sincerely,
cl.Brennan
Lead Writer on Line of Destruction

There's also a topic explaining style codes more here .

So let's go find those 2 style codes out there!

/me is just pleased to have something at least slightly PG-related to do again! :D

Well, in the IRC channel, me and few people got to thinking, why not have a gatecrasher ID, I mean, it would be fun to walk up to someone you're meeting at the drop and flip out the ID, so without further ado, the ID:

And, the PSD so you can edit yourself in, the layer is blatanly obvious in green, and be sure to desaturate your picture to fit with the gray theme.

After that, just sign it, and laminate!

To everyone without photoshop: PM me your Picture and I'll edit you one together :D

[EMAILS][EVENT] Prologue complete and chat!

2 emails were recieved tonight from Seraphina Brennan

Dear player of Section 32 and the Line of Destruction,

Congradulations on completing our prologue chapter! Let me introduce myself, I am Seraphina Brennan, the writer of this fantastic story. We hope you enjoyed our sneak peek into what we have planned for our main event, the sequel to Project Gateway, one of the most anticipated sequels, in fact, the first sequel ever announced in the ARG Community, Section 32 and the Line of Destruction.

Because we love our original gatecrashers and our new "Neo-Gatecrashers" (those who have just joined us), we wish to give you a special present for joining us for our prologue. What we are offering you is something you need to keep secure. We like to call it a "Style Code".

Your Style Code is: *censored*

A "Style Code" is a multi-functional password meant just for you players who joined us. These codes will give you some backstage access to the Chronosis Labs website, a special newsletter made just for GateCrashers, a sneak peek to our first game for the 2006 season, "JumpCrash", and special privileges in the main Section 32 and the Line of Destruction game.

Section 32 and the Line of Destruction is being billed as one of the most outstanding games to be presented in the 2006 Alternate Reality Game season. Already, the game has drawn high praise, such as:

"The sequel to Project Gateway is up and running, with a very slick design and some interesting real-world interaction thus far." - ARGN

"The site is aesthetically pleasing, and it looks like there was some serious thought put into the design." - ARGN

"This is a game that could change the fate of humanity." - Andrew Smink, ARG Reviewer

"An amazing piece of work that has unlimited potential." - Katie Durkin, Loyal Fan

Section 32 is currently in production by Chronosis Labs and will be released in the early summer of 2006, right after the first production of Chronosis, a project currently entitled "JumpCrash".

We're so happy that you decided to get onto the ground floor of this great game. So what can you expect from the game now that the prologue is complete?

First of all, www.fallingintime.com will become the official Chronosis Labratories main website in little under a week. So please don't be suprised when the website changes. We will be sure to archive Falling In Time for your benefit, and please don't hesitate to send any one of your friends to the archived form of Falling In Time so they too can catch up on on infectious story of Section 32. Also on the Chronosis Labs website will be more information about who we are, what we came to the genre for, and what we represent.

Second, I, Seraphina Brennan, wish to hold a PM chat with the players tomorrow, Thursday October 19th, in the #icarus chat room. I wish to meet alot of you personally, get to know you, find out what you thought of our pre-game, and what you would like us to do in the future, as well as answer any questions you might have.

And that's all the information I have for you right now! Cheers, and see you tomorrow!
[INFO]Style Codes

OK, since a lot of you have been asking about the Style Codes and the email of congratulations, I will post the relevant excerpt from the PM Chat.

[17:11] how were who recived style codes chosen? will more of us be getting them or was it a one time thing?
[17:12] Ahhh... yes... Style Codes...
[17:12] Everyone here is entitled to one.
[17:12] are they all the same?
[17:12] or do diffrent users get diffrent ones?
[17:12] If you will be so kind to send an e-mail to CL.Brennan SPLAT gmail.com, I will be glad to send along the letter of congrats and the code.
[17:13] Currently there is only one. Each style code will unlock different thigns.
[17:13] *things

Note: This has been edited slightly from the original chat logs to save a bit of space. ~Atrophied

[INFO] PG2 Wiki - Please read

Would a mod be kind enough to sticky this?

link to the PG2 Wiki

(edit -- done.) -- catherwood

This wiki is constantly being updated with new information as it comes to us through the game. It is THE prime resource for your information needs.

Being an open wiki, it is not up to just one person to keep it up to date. It comes down to the whole community.

Please take the time to make sure that any SOLID information (i.e. not speculation/theorising) is stored in the wiki. This makes it easier for all involved to keep up-to-date with the current events.

Please do NOT post discussion of topics onto the wiki. It is much easier to read and find information in an uncluttered state.

I'm going to go now and devote the rest of my day to updating the wiki with any emails/conversations and pages that have not yet been mentioned/linked to.

~Atrophied

Edit: Ok, I've just gone and added links to every page to make the wiki more user-friendly, added all the latest emails, and edited some of the formatting on a few of the pages to make it easier to read.

Hopefully it will stay up to date from now on. ;)

My thanks to Sequoya who has done most of the work on the wiki so far. :)

[INTERACTIONS] emails, phone calls, etc

I received a call on my cellphone on the Thursday night around 7:45pm from a number I didn't recognize. I answered, but due to poor receiption I couldn't hear the person on the other side.

This morning I googled that phone number and discovered that it belongs to a character from Project Gateway 1 (dun dun dun!).

I called back this morning and got voicemail. I left a voicemail, so we'll see if I get another call. There was a name on the voicemail box, but I'm not sure if its a character name or not, so I'll refrain from posting it until I know more.

This may have been the 22nd event we were wating for. Sorry folks.
