Freakylinks?

Not a newbie to the 'concept' of ARG but definitely new to the fact that it's such a well developed world. Anyway, would you guys consider 'Freakylinks' and its associated websites an early form of ARG?

An archive of the original Freakylinks site can be found at:

http://www.haxan.com/portfolio/freakylinks/

Just curious what you experienced ARGers think of this . . .

Thanks!

Sheet music for "Forboding Dream" from Intimation?

So this is a bit of a longshot, but: I remember someone posting sheet music for " Foreboding Dream " from Intimation , but I can't seem to find it now. Does anyone still have this, or know who wrote/performed the music?

The Slender Search

For anyone out here, I am in search of some good youtube series involving slenderman--or maybe even something creepy. I do know of MH, EH, TT, Tea13time, Onehundredyardstare, Darkharvest00, MLAnderson0, and some more but I was to curious if there was one with a good plot, good effects, and a few good scares along the way.

I'm really into slenderman and wrote a 30,000 word short story on him in which I hope to publish one day. No, I do not believe he is scary because no one ever portrays him as running after you or grabbing you like Alines and eating your face off...but that's what I like about him, he is a mystery that is molded by the creator and thats why I enjoy the mythos about him. I currently have a youtube channel that does alright---basically if i make it to 30 subscribers I will feel like pewdiepie-lol. But anyway I love watching these mythos and was wondering if anyone can tell me of a few more that are new and need more attention. THANKS!

Going Back in Time: The Cypher

I posted this somewhere way back when, but I thought I'd post it here. This is just a little ARG history for entertainment purposes.

I have an old friend from Seattle who works for a internet media company. His company did a 'cyber-mystery novel' back in the late '90s, when most folks were on 28.8 modems.

Anyway, it's worth checking out, from a historical perspective. I finally found a link to a place where it's stored:

http://www.epgmedia.com/cypher/01/main.html

Each numbered directory is one episode (.../cypher/01/..., .../cypher/02/..., etc.). This was originally released episodically every week, with a total of 12 episodes.

I think it was very well done, especially considering the limitations at the time.

Anyway, it's kind of fun to take a look at something like this from the beginning of the internet era.

Trying to remember old ARG/fictional vlog...

Here's everything I remember:
-It was created by a guy in England
-mostly consisted of a fictional vlog, but had some ARG-ish elements too
-it was about this guy waking up one morning to find everyone in his town gone, takes a few episodes to realize that it isn't just his town, and could be happening all over the world
-had a vague "I am Legend" feel, but without the vampires, focused more on the slow realization that the creator may be the last person on earth
-three scenes I vividly remember: the creator visits London to discover that it too is empty, finds a dead body in an alley, but otherwise no trace of anyone who was there or what happened to them; the creator explaining his discovery that one of the webcams he had started monitoring after everyone vanished was actually on a loop; and the end of the final video, where soldiers of unknown origin have the creator under siege in his house, interrupt him in the middle of a video, he flees, there are gunshots, and the series ends

Does anyone have a link to this series, or at least remember what it was called?

You Know If You're an ARG player!!

You Know If You're an ARG Player if:

1. You're constantly checking your email, to see if a in game character contacted you.
2. You use your cell phone as the contact number, and you leave it on all night expecting that 1am threating call.
3. You create your own ARG game just to kill time till a new ARG comes out
4. You get bored and IM in game characters through Yahoo or AIM.
5. You get excited when you get a IM or Email from the game and stop talking to your friends online to converse with the in game character.
6. You still have the Majestic Interface installed and talk with you character or people you met while playing

OK guys lets see what else we can add to this list and how long we can keep it going

Some Beast swag I found

Going through my files, I found a little bit of swag from The Beast -- Jeanine Salla's business card! I don't recall how I acquired it -- perhaps when they sent me the A.I. poster as well? Anyway, for nostalgia's sake, I thought I would upload some crappy iPhone pictures of the card front/back (sorry so fuzzy):

Not too old of an ARG...

Hey I'm new here, and if this is in the wrong section or not allowed then please move or delete it, but I need some help.

Alright so a couple years back, there was this ARG where this group of college students gave a notebook to the brother of one of the guys in the group, and the notebook was a collage of classic video game characters telling him he had to save the world.

This was basically an ARG where he was the only one in it and he would document it for us to see. He would go on treasure hunts, get escorts to and from by some guy claiming to be from the future, and even visited an art gallery where a bunch of stuff from his journey was on display.

And it all ended in the coolest climax ever. He was driven by a black guy in a van to a college where he ran on stage, and took part in a play he had no idea about before he got there and saved the universe.

It was documented on Something Awful, but the guy who was also taken on the adventure made his own website documenting the experience.

I've spent hours searching for it today and I was hoping you guys could help me out.

a few of your favorite ARG things...

Eliza.

Yeah, she was creepy and annoying, but there was something about the Sophia/Eliza pages that I was really impressed with. I'm not sure if it was puzzle-related or design, but it was cool.

I still miss getting mail from Laia too.

Memorable moments: Mike Royal and finding my real life name printed on the movie poster. That was awesome.

From LJ, I though iudicium rocked (but I'm biased). I also loved the pie animation

Two memorable moments: Sitting in #jawbreakers and our own PM channel while also watching and chatting during the euchre games. It was funny to see everybody debate about inviting game characters into IRC or discuss how to proceed while we were right there in your channel. And the last night, waiting for the NetSight core dump to be discovered, I nearly had a heart attack.
The Beast archives @ yahoo...

Is there any chance of getting access to archives of the Beast which are stored in Yahoo group? The admittance to the group is possible only with moderator approval and it seems that nobody is screening incoming requests (either that, or my plea was ignored for unknown reason. Twice.).

Any idea how to get access there? I mean, cloudmakers.org is fine and everything, but lots of links lead to Yahoo and - bummer. :(

There are Some Peeps that Never Stopped Playing Push

Ok now yall will all have to forgive me this little foray into the past. When I was in Orlando I spoke with Space Bass (hellllooooooo!) about how I aquired my Screen Name.
When Push, Nevada ended I was left with the syndrom that most peeps experience when a riviting ARG ends.... Obsessive Compulsiveness...lelelel. A bunch of us Pushers took on the persona of many of the Push charecters. I took on Sunny du Pree a morning show host and gossip columnist. What follows are a series of Articles that I wrote as Sunny continuing on the Push saga.
This is for Space Bass YOU ASKED FOR IT
We were pissed that Push didnt end so we made up our own endings... believe me this is only a small part of the creative outpouring that took place when Push ended.
What is even more amazing that there are peeps out there that play push to this day..
One more thing, if you didnt play Push then there will be alot of stuff that does not make sense for it is mostly Push Reference and in jokes but it is silly none the less........
I will post in small bites so you wont throw it up in a vomitous mass...
CONTINUE AT YOUR OWN RISK
LELLELELELE!
