Thanks to Citizen Kane who had an account with World of Warcraft we had someone to follow the clues. Between him on WoW and us in chat we made it to the end of last night's adventure.

If anyone plays Anarchy-online, Turing Principle is at Rimor online for the next 65 minutes. He is giving encrypted messages (they have been in ROT so far).

We don't know their intent. Using us as tools is a very real possibility.
But the PMs have given us an avenue to explore that should be checked out.
Not having played the first version of this game, I see no reason to blindly trust what either one says.
Just as with Keith, who I've stopped communicating with till he starts actually telling me something, I've opted to do the same with all the other entities. If it's just a story that will be told to me in which I have no ability to affect, my communications with the characters is pretty meaningless. I get everything I need out of the timed or canned replies to communications from those who prefer to interract more than I do.
Sam is the main exception to this rule. Her communications are specific and to the point, usually. I haven't been bothering her I haven't had the need, but will if it is appropriate.
