I searched, and I searched all over the forums for a similar post as this one so I can find out more about this site and whether its a possible trailhead.

Any ideas?

-The image shows a group of people, a mob, or riot perhaps?
-First impression was that I was looking into the screen of a TV but closer observation shows that the image is distorted and it somewhat looks like a quark board or tag board.

Most will remember the Happy Cube forums from the ill-fated Wyoming Incident. A little while ago I received this email from a "boardmoderator":

Then another thread posing the question "Who is Joseph Bright?"

Throughout most of early 2007, a man claiming to be named Joseph Bright was a participant in the "Wyoming Incident" alternate reality/role-playing game that used this board as a headquarters of sorts.

Bright is unstable and may have irrationally acted on things that he saw or read about on these forums and in the game. There is reason to believe that he has continued to play the game, despite it ending almost two years ago.

We do not know how active the off-site community is, but we have heard that there are/were IRC channels and other websites where details about the Wyoming Incident were discussed.

If any of you knew and conversed with anyone from a chatroom or forum who called himself JosephBright, JoeBright, JoBright, JBright, B-37, CopperFist, or AmIn, please message me whatever details about him you can. Useful information would include details about where he is currently living (even just the state would help), what his current occupation is, whether or not he is abusing drugs, possible alternative names he may be using, and so on.

To Unfiction CTW Players:
I still haven't really recovered yet from CTW so this is not going to be a long and philosophical reflection on the game or the experience; that will be coming later or perhaps covered in post game chats.
I did, however, very quickly, just want to thank you all for your support of the game. Knowing that so many people truly enjoyed playing Chasing The Wish and maybe even learned a few things too is icing on the cake, for just the process of creating and running the game has been a greatly rewarding and fulfilling journey for me. And I, too, have learned a great deal and opened doors to new and exciting things in my future. So thank you all very, very much.
A few quick notes for everyone going through CTW withdrawal:

(1) Check out the CTW main website and click on the right half of the moon. It should take you to a very special new page. This may help the people who have been writing me and telling me they feel like they lost a good friend. Well, you can still talk to her if you want (hint, hint).
(2) There are a few post game interviews already scheduled with a couple of gaming websites and I'd certainly be willing to do a post game chat here or combined with the entire player base. Feel free to e-mail me at cabal@chasingthewish.com if you would like to make arrangements.
(3) There is one special post game event already planned, that will include some new and previously unseen CTW material that will be reminiscent of the CTW mini-quest and will involve giving away some one-of-a-kind CTW production materials and swag. Stay tuned for more details.
(4) I'd love to hear your comments about the overall CTW experience, both good and bad, and would like to be able to use some on the CTW website and in future promotional materials. Please e-mail me at cabal@chasingthewish.com with your feedback about the game.

I guess that's long enough for a "quick" message. There will be further updates to the main CTW website soon, including the Credits for the game and links to reference materials and the like. There will also be some exclusive information about my future projects.

The New York Times has an article up on "The 39 Clues," a new book series for children by Scholastic that is apparently going to have a significant online gaming component:

An online game will allow readers to search for the 39 clues themselves, while solving puzzles and playing mini-games that will be refreshed daily. Mr. Levithan said the site would include blogs written from the points of view of characters, and maps, treasure hunts and videos, many with historical and geographical content.

Today as I turned on Facebook, a guy by the name of Uno Hallucinine posted the following link:

Knowing this is the guy who did the ARG for the '9' movie, I am now a bit lost in the rabbit hole he put before me. Am I mistaken it's a an ARG or am I actually on the right track? As a newbie to this sort of thing, it is quite confusing.

Funny. Check out the name of their new CEO: Richard Fowler. Formerly, he was the Director of Holdman and Breakers Ltd. Ha ha.

Any guesses on names/passwords for the restricted access portion of the

Sombra Corp is the name of the front for Enrico Balazar and his men, who are trying to buy the vacant lot in Manhattan where the rose is located.

Richard Fowler is another name for Randall Flagg, who is the Walkin' Dude, the Ageless Stranger, and also Walter/Marten from the Dark Tower books and The Stand. Bad, bad man.

There's also a link to http://www.lamerkindustries.com/ from the Sombra page. LaMerk is mentioned in the Dark Tower books as a manufacturer of robots.

If this pans out, it would be very, very cool indeed. Whois info can be found here . There's a phone number listed - 615-429-5938, which is a Nashville number. I'd call it, but holy heck, it's Flagg! :shock:

So I just started playing Echo Bazaar, a twitter-associated Steampunk sort of RPG, when I noticed that http://twitter.com/EchoBazaar was retweeting tweets that appear to be made by characters in-game. The "Mr. *insert-commodity-here*" characters are sort of Captains of Industry of the different markets going on in Fallen London, and there are a few posting tweets about commodity prices, sniping at each other, and some player interaction. Thoughts?
