The Art of the Heist campaign was one of the four finalists at the April 19th "Battle of the Brands" held in NYC at NBC's Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center. Although it didn't win the top prize, it was awarded the "Creativity Award".
There's a picture of Mike Monello holding the award at:
Ok, i think that the saddest part of the whole AotH thing was: I didn't discover Unfiction until the whole game was OVER. And i didn't discover this until...NOW. Waaah!

Thanks to everyone who worked on AotH! I'll be a-waiting AotH2!

(oh, and HaxanMike, in reply to you're avatar, i have one thing to say. My Spoon's too big!)

Congrats to everyone involved.

And j5 and the Chicago boat trip people - look for videos of yourself in action.

AotH Awards and Follow-up

I thought everyone might like to know that the Art of the Heist has won several awards at the Mixx Conference and Awards meeting, including the coveted "Best in Show" award. I Love Bees , called the Halo 2 viral campaign at the show, was also recognized in the Viral/Word Of Mouth/Peer-to-Peer Marketing category, for which AotH took second place. AotH also won under Online Integration and a couple of other categories too.

McKinney-Silver has put together a nice site explaining the campaign and presenting its timeline. Check it out here:

http://www.mckinney-silver.com/A3_H3ist/

Nice recognition for the AotH team and great news for ARGs as a whole.

I PMed her, offering to cover a bunch of postage, but she's sort of MIA. poor dear .. maybe Gunter is back fFrom the grave and killed her but good this time!

FINALLY -- Credits!

Told you guys it was crazy. That doesn't even count all the volunteer extras (like J.D.'s wife who's Lativan and did a few Russian voice mails, as a random example.) Or all the modders in the videogame community that we licensed models from to build the machinima segments (let alone the other six people on the core machinima team.)

You know, Monello didn't have a grey hair in his head before the Heist started, now that I think of it.

The best was when the limo guy swung into the parking lot, and the headlights lit up your face. Nisha made me sit in the passenger seat, so I totally saw you, and the look of resigned horror that you were, once again, confronted with us and our suspicious hostility.
Jim, there's one thing that people of this community should (or already do) know about me is that I never EVER take myself too seriously. Those that can laugh at themselves will never run out of amusement!

I loved the "port-o-potty commando" line! I was honored to have made it in-game. That was nothing compared to all the jokes in #heist the night of the Chicago op, and all the jokes I made about myself while talking to Diandra. For a good laugh and to see what kind of fun we all had, check the log: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/download.php?id=3334

Even though some of the fun was at my expense, I didn't care. It was just so great to be involved. And you can be sure my name tag in NYC will say "Port-o-potty Commando!"

Coming to ARGFest? We want to talk to you! Yes you!

BIG thanks to everyone who responded to my request. We will be contacting everyone shortly to try and schedule a time to interview you. Since the time frame is so brief, and the activities are plenty, I doubt we will get to everyone but we'll sure give it the old college try.

Thanks again to everyone for helping!
