Hi, all. I'm doing research on Jericho and have been trying fruitlessly to locate the one episode made for "Beyond Jericho." If anyone happens to see this post and has access to it or can help me locate it, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks!

mstrmnd

As it turns out, mstrmnd is the company behind Tom Tooman. I sent them an email a few days ago looking for some closure on two specific puzzles: the glyphs page that was beyond itwillhappen and how we were supposed to find Tooman. I'll attach that email and the response.

Masterminds at Mstrmnd,

As a follower from the start, I've always wondered who to thank for this game.

Tom Tooman was amazing. From the bottom of my heart: thank you.

I do have a couple of questions I hoped you could answer, so for the rest of my time playing ARGs I'm not left wondering, "What about these puzzles?" I went back time and time again to try to solve the glyph puzzle that followed the card game at Sacred Hat, I remember having dreams of those tiles, the text boxes, and the "left hint," and "right hint." Can you please, please explain to me how that worked?

Secondly- I know in the last bit, we were supposed to find Tooman- what were we supposed to do? Where did we go wrong?

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you.

tygr20

Eric,

Many many thanks for your thoughts and note. I personally followed your path intently and was very excited to observe your discovery process.

The glyph game was designed around a date and time. Not one that we chose, but one that players were invited to create. We had a range selected and kept a door open. The game was finishable without this glyph arena, but it was my hope that the players would select an end date and in effect, be somewhat aware they had chose a time similarly to how an a'jkin 'chooses' time. Instead of solving it for you, why don't I consider a cool way of making it easier for you to solve it and then let you see what were up to?

It was our intention from the beginning to make Tom Tooman a new kind of game. Finding Tom was a multilayered probe of insight. I would say you found Tom the most of any player. Other players like Het Masteen came close too,
finding Tom meant deciding which person he was in the frames of the stream (even his POV, which is the first shot of the stream), which voice he was on the radio, etc.

Crucially, no one was wrong. If you thought the sticker and the final image of the stream (of stars) were mirrors, then you found Tom as far as the game would go (to that point). And of course, if Jericho had succeeded, then there would me many more findings of Tom on the horizon.

Let's stay in touch!

Kevin

Interesting. So maybe we'll get another crack at some of this??? *crosses fingers*

CBS: If you're listening...

I've posted as such on the Jericho boards on the CBS site as well.

I know we've had spans where nothing happens in the game over an extended period. That's fine; it added to the drama. But now with Jericho gone, we can only assume that Tooman went with. We've had no confirmation, no closure. All I ask is that if CBS or another party affiliated intends to continue the game, breach the curtain long enough to tell us it's going to continue, and we'll never ask again. But if the game is over... just tell us. We have a short list of questions we'd like answers for, and then we'll go back to our normal lives only to occasionally mention, "man, Tooman was a pretty good game."

Give us something, a sign in the clouds, an email, a URL, a sit down chat, or a t-shirt that says, "I played Tom Tooman since August 07 and all I got was this t-shirt. Yeibichai." That can be followed by some Morse code(as Tom loved it so much) that merely reads, "- .... . / --. .- -- . / .. ... / --- ...- . .-. .-.-.- / .. - .----. ... / -.. --- -. . --..-- / -- .- -. --..-- / --. --- / --- -. / .-- .. - .... / -.-- --- ..- .-. / .-.. .. ..-. . .-.-.- / .. - .-- .. .-.. .-.. .... .- .--. .--. . -.". The point being- we want the same closure offered to the Rangers. Again, just a quick note will suffice. Thanks for your time.

Jericho

I have written CBS and told them what I think of them for cancelling Jericho, and I want all of you to do the same. Let them know you won't watch their network or patronize their sponsors. Jericho was praised by the critics and treated like a step-child by the network. Greed was the factor in cancelling our show. Screw CBS!

DON'T EXPECT PLANTERS TO HELP, HERE WAS THEIR RESPONSE

DON'T EXPECT KRAFT FOODS TO HELP,
AFTER WE SENT THOUSANDS OF PLANTERS PEANUTS TO CBS, THIS IS THE RESPONSE I GOT;

Hi Pauline,

Thanks for thinking highly enough of our company to ask us to participate in your efforts to keep your favorite television show on air. While we appreciate you including Planters in your efforts, we must decline your request.

Unfortunately, we receive such a large volume of requests just like yours that we can't possibly honor them all.

We hope you understand our decision. We appreciate you thinking of us and wish you the very best in your efforts.

~~TLXEA_17114237~~N

NOW YOU TELL ME, WHAT BETTER ADVERTISING WAS THERE FOR THIS COMPANY THAN WHAT WE DID AND FOR THEM TO SAY THEY RECIEVE SUCH A LARGE VOLUME OF REQUESTS, THAT THEY CAN'T POSSIBLY HONOR THEM ALL. I DON'T THINK SO! I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THEY DID HONOR.

Jericho Officially Re-Cancelled.

http://www.showbuzz.cbsnews.com/stories ... 8376.shtml

Aw Nuts: CBS Pulls Plug On Jericho
Final Episode Airs Tuesday, Promises To Tie Up Storyline

March 21, 2008

(CBS) "Jericho" has been canceled, and no amount of peanuts will bring it back.

"The March 25th episode of Jericho will be the series finale," CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said in a statement. "Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more."

The show was canceled after its first season, but was resurrected when fans joined together and sent tens of thousands of pounds of peanuts to get the network to change its mind.

CBS ordered a second season of seven episodes which premiered on Feb. 12, 2008. Ratings never equaled the first season's numbers, and have taken a tumble since the premiere.

"We have no regrets bringing the show back for a second try," the network said. "We listened to our viewers, gave the series an opportunity to grow, and the producers put a great story on the screen. We're proud of everyone's efforts."

Producers hedged their bets by shooting two alternate endings to the final show, which airs Tuesday.

One is a cliffhanger that could have led to a third season and the other ending is said to bring "closure" to fans.

But, sources tell the Hollywood Reporter, there's enough wiggle room in the final episode to make room for new life of the series on cable.

We are no longer a news and a rumor... Hence this separate thread!
Hopefully I'll get around to reposting all our finds tomorrow. In the meantime, here are the bare essentials:

Site discovered by: drizjr
How did we find it? Following an update on www.ajkin.com (see trailhead thread ), we got the phrase "Are you a" written in Morse code across borderlines. drizjr made the logical leap to "are you a border", and here we all are.
Questions you'd like CBS to answer

Ladies, Gentlemen, Furries, and all other interested parties-

As season two of Jericho comes to a close, we can only imagine that Mr. Tooman may very well be making himself scarce. I hope I'm wrong(what can I say? I guess I'm a masochist), but realistically, with the possibility of the show not returning for a third season, I can't imagine that the game in the Jericho universe will continue without the show. With that said, I posted the following at the Jericho forums over at CBS:

This is just an open letter to the powers that be behind the Tom Tooman game.

CBS and affiliated partners,

Let me begin by saying thank you. Thanks for ajkin, for are you a border, for Black Hills Radio Control, the Sakanas Herald, Sacred Hat Casino, Jennings and Rall, Ravenwood, Ryan Archer, Trish Merrick, our mystery texter, and of course, Tom himself. 2man.

Over the last 8 months, the faithful many at Unfiction and here at the CBS boards have followed a man we know nothing about, save for his name, and that he hails from Lame Deer, Montana. From the letter, to the barcodes, "red cloud," dearther, and even now kppldlz9oo, we've been there since day one. The future holds one of three outcomes here- Jericho continues for a third season(please??) and 2man follows, Jericho continues for a third season(pretty please??) and 2man parts, or both facets leave altogether(please no??).

I think, realistically, the sunset for Tooman is well in view. With that said- we have, as Ryan Archer would say, "more questions than answers." So, in the interests of all involved parties, we'd like to have a wrap up.

If the game is truly going to continue, ignore my request- but if the game is coming to an end, there are plenty of loose ends we would love to tie down. We can do this via an IRC chat- we have a room dedicated to Tom's exploits at Chat-Solutions(irc.chat-solutions.org #tomtooman), or via some kind of conference call via Skype, or even a TeamSpeak meeting. This has been a great, sometimes frustrating, sometimes rewarding game, and we want to fully understand everything that we don't, and we really want to show our gratitude. If we can make this happen, please join us in the #tomtooman IRC channel and let us know, post a message at Unfiction(I'm sure SpaceBass would understand ONE puppetmaster posting :) ) or simply send me an email- tygr20ATgmail.com. I can rally the troops for a meeting any feasible time. Just let us know, somehow.

Regards,
Eric Miller (tygr20)

Now, guys, it's up to us to develop the questions we want answered. I'll get the ball rolling by asking a simple question:

WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THE STARS ON THE BAR CODES?!

In all seriousness, I think we're due some closure come the end of the game. Some of us have been here since August of last year, picking up every bread crumb along the way as best we can. Let's try to find out the answers to the different questions we've always wanted answered.

Cheyenne Government is Jennings and Rall.

Thought I'd post the latest plot twist. All the members of the leadership of the Cheyenne Government are a part of Jennings and Rall. Also, Jennings and Rall came up with the scenario that was carried out in the attacks.

Since no one else mentioned it here, I think it'll be helpful to know who the people are that we are studying.
