Lost Ring trivia for the final pruvo codes.

A little birdy told me that they were able to decrypt the flash file from the omphaputer, and gain access to all the pruvo codes.

And, since I don't want people continuing to take the survey over & over and over again, I have decided to have a trivia contest, pruvo code giveaway, drag this out for a week event-of-a-lifetime.

I'll give you 2 codes to start.
002V/9H6Q/V89V/F2KG/B57W
0B99/E4GV/SO42/CJ7W/O57F

Trivia Question # 1:
In what labyrinth was Ariadne found?
A correct answer will unlock 5 more B-T-S codes.

I'll try to skip the ones we already have, and the codex codes, but forgive me if I give out old codes.
If this is not fun, let me know, and I'll publish the whole list.

[META][INFO] Organizing people... professions?

So just on a whim, I thought - hey, we've got strengths, where out personalities and desires and abilities lead us, but what about practical talent and experience?

Sometimes I'm surprised (though shouldn't be) at what some of the people who come here (or various places) do for a living... perhaps it's just because we/I tend to put people in a "gamer" mold, but seeing people profess to careers like being a lawyer for instance, it kind of boggles me about the level of potential we have here, just in networking alone...

So I thought, why not start a thread for sharing our professions... what we do, how we might be of service, etc...

Now, of course we don't want to make this a 'selling yourself' deal, and some might not want to share because really it is what you -do-, and get paid for, so we don't necessarily want to be obligated to provide services just because we're playing a game... but this could really help us understand the scope of the community that's being built around this game, around the world. The pool of talent and abilities being built.

Perhaps (and I won't do this unless people think it could be a good idea) I might make a wiki page to go with the list of people by strength, opening it up to the wider community... maybe if you like, also say whether you'd be willing to have your name/profession listed in that capacity, or just here if you do decide to share.

So, what do you do?

To start, my profession is web application/database development.
As an aside I also play guitar, and enjoy photography.

Khaos, would you be willing to check on Lucie's forums to see if there are any francophone agonothetai in Montreal? I am considering taking a trip out there to tie an omph knot there, but if there are already team members in place there it would save me the time and expense.

I am going to take some time later this week to try and design a labyrinth for Montreal. If any of you feel inclined to try to do so as well, that would be nice :).

Are any of you also within driving/bussing/train distance of Montreal and interested in making the trip? I'm thinking of spending 1 night there, because driving there, doing the laby and then driving back would be a bit much. Who wants to go on a road trip :)?

[PRESS] Find the Lost Ring

Now that FTLR has its own forum, we can have a thread dedicated to linking to press coverage of FTLR.

First off, with Jane's Keynote at SXSW came a host of blogs and articles about ARGs and her projects, so a quick google should suffice for those.

But after her keynote, CNet sat down with Jane to specifically talk about Find the Lost Ring .

The wonderful interview can be found here:
[FINAL MISSION] Two-Minute Video Summary of TLR

Jane, via Twitter, sent these messages at 04:29 PM on September 03, 2008:

#lostring final mission with prize! team agonothetai uniform (shirt & shorts) to producers of 2-minute video story of TLR from player POV

#lostring we have 3-4 uniforms for 3-4 videos... want by Sunday night Sept 7 post to youtube tag #lostring and send link to James Mutters!

It caused a slight flurry of tweets regarding James being in another universe and whatnot, with the shrewd thinking to put Kai in charge of James' email. :P

Anyway, Ariock and I worked on a video together (though remotely). Boy howdy, I am learning iMovie and it is cool, but time-consuming (I need to use it more often so I don't forget everything I figured out--this video makes a grand total of two I have made).

I figured that the other videos they'd get would be well done and serious and truly informative, so we went the silly route, which happens to my forte, anyway. :pony: See? A pony head is silly!

Anyway, here is the link to the video . I hope you like it. Remember, it is two minutes out of your life you will never get back! :D

[META]The secret ending

So I just went to see Monica's homepage, as I do almost every day, and a popup showed up, asking me to do a survey. It was kind of "McDonald'ish", but it promised something special if I did it...
Anyway, I took the survey, and they gave me a special "pruvoderehavigo" code, which I'm supposed to enter when the game ends (august 25th). I'd suggest taking the survey if you want one of those codes, I still think those kind of things are good for something, but anyway I guess once we can find what this secret stuff is, we'll be sharing it here anyway...

[META] Goodbye Lost Ring !

Current votes :
Pros : 4
Cons : 0

Suggestions :
- A slideshow of some of the photos of people running the labyrinths, and maybe one of the different omphalabyrinths around the world ?(elite.fencer)
- A Flickr with the best photos (Twolf)
- A profile in youtube or subdot, with the best videos and testimonials
from the players. (Twolf)
- DVD with memorable videos from The Lost Ring, players and characters alike (Konamouse/DavFlameRock)
- Video in Esperanto
- Memories book

So the quest for the Lost Ring is coming to an end soon, with the Olympic Games of Beijing at hand, hopefully marking the return of the 6 (and whoever will want to tag along) to their original world.

I've been wondering what to do to mark the end of this adventure with all of you for a few weeks : we have seen some pretty impressive feats since March and I'm sure there'll be more before everything is over, things definitely worth sharing and remembering.

So please let us know what you think and submit whatever idea you might have to celebrate the end of all this in the thread if you think such a project is worth it !

My shot :
- A video in Esperanto, featuring as many of the players as possible or
- A digital book of sorts, collating the adventures around the collection of the various artifacts of the quest for the Lost Ring, tips and tricks for Labyrinth running from top players...

Your turn !

Well, this was my very first Chaotic Fiction ARG that I ever did. It was great fun, and if all CFs are like this one, then I forsee many more in my future.

At the same time as the six are travelling back to their homes, I myself will be travelling back to my home in America, in Gaea. I wanted to take the time to thank all of you for making my experience with this a really fabulous time. And to Jane, if you're reading this-- you are amazing.

Thanks for listening and riding the wave of this experience with me, everyone.
The Beijing Chapter

August 17:

James looks at places for their labyrinth and shows where they'll be filming: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epluJ0lCRsI

August 18:

Kai records everyone arriving...except Alex/Ariadne: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgpi3SuJQI8

James surprises Markus outside their hotel and he reveals he's there to help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoelMv4VZ1U

August 19:

We're introduced to the other team members who work behind the scenes, Edwin (the camera guy), Jane (who met Kai at Foo Camp) and Julie (who organizes things): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCyFKM1ThPg

The team members train for Ariadne's Dance, using Canzonett's instructions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-Z1QNP0DfE

The athletes walk the omphalabyrinth on the Olympic green (posted by Kai on the 23rd): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_flneHffguQ

Ariadne/Alex arrives! Hugs, group hugs, and official Olympic cheers ensue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98WorBzLoZI
August 20:

Larissa approaches Monica to ask for her help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxdq9swovxo

(Video is in Spanish but from what I gather...) Monica, Larissa and Diego discuss how to help Renata, and realize that the fake de-synchronization ritual created by the Couberteam to fool TheO could help Renata gain TheO's trust, so they call Markus over to join in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-FvYolEXB0

Mei Hui comes back to the hotel and catches Markus, Monica, James, Larissa and Diego performing the de-synchronization ritual (but Mei Hui doesn't know it's fake): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hvr0-2N8qRI

August 21
Monica and Diego find Larissa and James to tell them that Mei Hui spotted them, and that they need to explain to her what's going on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3FYtYAB-8o

Diego, Larissa, Monica and James explain to Mei Hui that the document and ritual were created by the Couberteam, and they need a new plan to help Renata gain TheO's trust: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtwSaiON3ic

Edwin Moses posts messages of support for Team London , Team Tokyo (with Noriko), Team Wellington , Team San Francisco , and Team Salvador (with Larissa)

August 22

Diego says, "Hasta luego!" (not "Adios"): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pglbqxc3piE

The athletes introduce the Multiverse Olympics teams and read their rosters:
Mei Hui, Team London: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_o_7DiH1LIM
Larissa and Diego, Team Salvador: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKxiFsEeJH4
James and Kai, Team San Francisco: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRTJfd_zsVM
Noriko, Team Tokyo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oalWWbsHKA8
Ariadne/Alex, Team Wellington: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyEtaKps11Q

(Half in Chinese, half in English) Mei Hui says a really thoughtful goodbye to her friends and allies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRIUzrSWzSk

(Japanese) Noriko says goodbye (? I'll wait til Unagi comes in to tell us what's up :) ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rG7tjqSsG8

Renata phones Larissa and speaks to Diego and Monica: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TylFiMEE09E

Lucie says "aurevoir-": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Hpf8eWxCoM

August 23

The athletes perform Ariadne's dance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y9CMEJdb8o

Edwin Moses coaches the athletes (three parts):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8U-0nqZh94
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haHOpZD5fZA
Edwin Moses took Team Agonothetai to the Athletics Finals!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZJHe893dsI

James: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ep2jZVbl-nM

Diego gives Monica a pep talk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C45_WLgXu3U

James thanks Ariock and hmrpita for the rope protractor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbD8KTcBNzs
