It's not a mistake. Clearly files have been removed and it does say so in the source code for some of them. Many of them - if not all of them - are connected to agent 90426.

If Steven is in Environmental System he needs a suit. I'd suggest that Seth is checking the suits for a missing one, perhaps Steven had one of his own, anyway. Those pipes sound like a possible escape...
