the problem is there are no reference points. I can't find any two spots that are even similar enough to 'join' and produce a hidden depth image...

I...don't think this is a stereogram. Unless you mean steganography; an embedded message in the image data, rather than a visual L/R hidden image?

I will say this - the tubes are sitting in a bundle, simply waiting to be mailed. Budgeting it in has been the issue. Trust me, I feel awful that they've not been mailed yet
