06/24/08(Tue)04:35 No.744086Some dude from SA:
From
what I've been reading through the course of this exercise, I've made a
few assumptions. According to the music selections (Violent Femmes;
Country Death Song and Smashing Pumpkins; Bullet With Butterfly Wings),
I assume that everything that is going on in those letters happened
quite a while ago. In keeping with the musical stylings of the time,
that would be early to middle '90s. Also, the focus on "Time" and
"Memory". Most everyone here (I figure) thinks we are here to save Mary
from Robert. But at the same time, Robert has said nothing but "You
can't save her". And now with the dawning of Dave's final bit of the
code, it becomes fairly clear. "Mary Dies". Maybe I've gotten a little
off-track here, so I'll skip right to the point.
I believe that
P and R are one in the same, just different parts of the same person. R
resides in the past, the angry, angsty teenager that wanted Mary for
his own, and got all stabby on Steven. P resides in the present. From
the e-mails sent to most everyone I've seen, he seems a lot calmer,
cooler, bit more collected in his thoughts. From the focus on memory,
and the importance of it, perhaps the most important memory is of
Mary's death? The death of Ben seemed to have scarred him pretty deep,
as the mere mention of it would bring about R!P, as opposed to the
calmer P!R.
This is along the lines of what i was thinking. Sounds right, for the most part. |
