adams: i'm um.. i managed to pick up on a couple of leads so i'm leaving town for a few weeks.  i'm going up north.  i won't say any more than that.  but what i'm about to say i will deny to the hilt, but if you want to resolve this, you can resolve it and you do it cleanly.  then the powers that be back at the department.. they'll look the other way.  i never said that.

chris:  what? wait wait wait.  (grabs melissa's hand)

melissa: i wouldn't do that.  they're watching.  you wouldn't want mom and dad to die too right?  you don't have any idea what it's like do you?  to have a purpose?  too bad.  you couldn't even kill a life to save one.
