- Cydonia.jpg

Cydonia, AKA "The Face on Mars". Not really one of the plot photos, just one of the space shots. Kinda interesting they chose this particular feature to include, though. Rotate the picture 90 degrees counterclockwise if you don't see the face.

----- Orbicon Base -----

- BaseSign.jpg

"Orbicon Maldives Ground Base". What's up with the 9 on the arrowhead?

----- Artists Concepts -----

Now we get a series of what appear to be five artist's concepts (CG renders and skethes) of the planned space elevator.

- Base1.jpg

The Maldives Base - There's an ocean platform (similar to an oil rig) on pylons with a docked ship being loaded/unloaded by a crane. Note the big pole in the center that goes straight up. This is the base of the elevator.

- Base2.jpg

A different angle of the same platform. This one shows the elevator car sitting at the bottom of the cable. Note the two-disc design. Are those 2 missiles near the left edge of the platform?! (surely not)

- Car1.jpg

The elevator car near the top of the cable, with earth far below. Again, note the two-disc shape, with the climbing mechanism in the center.

- Car2.jpg

Ascending or descending through the clouds. Ladies and Gentelmen, we're sorry for the inconvenience, but the car has just broken down. Please wait for about an hour while a technician climbs the service later. In the meantime, enjoy the view... (j/k!)

- Car3.jpg

Similar to car1, but with more color. The laser-beam which powers the car is clearly visible. Also notice that the earth is tilted towards the Maldives, as it should be (I'm a consistency nut!)

----- Protesters -----

Apparently not everyone agrees that Orbicon is doing a good thing. Note the following protestors.

- NotGodsPlan.jpg
- CARTSRally.jpg
- PareLaMaquina.jpg (sign says "Stop the Orbicon Machine" in Spanish)
- Actors.jpg

Seems odd that the actors and the fundamentalists are teamed up on this one. That doesn't occur very often.

----- Others Miscellany -----

- Robodog.jpg

The preffered food of mechanical mutts everywhere, this bone is, literally, a "spin-off" (get it?) from 2001: Space Odessy. It's also one of the most mysterious parts of the trailer. Where did it come form? Where is it going? Why is it there?

- Girl.jpg

Irregardless of whether or not her name is "Stevie Mae", you can't really deny help to such a cute face, can you?

- UnknownShip.jpg

Another mystery. If we're using a space elevator, then where did the bleach-bottle-shapped ship come from? What do they start to say before being cut off? Who is the shadowy figure behind the cockpit window? And why do they attempt to capture the dog bone in their forward airlock?
