Good news! I have now located the RMSS and one of the probes were moved closer in attempt to establish communications link. So far, it appears the regular communications array is offline, and the emergency array has not gone online. I cannot perform remote activation of the emergency communications array but any crew should now be able to use their personal communications device via the probe. I will continue to observe what happens from here.

So at least it sounds like the ship is not destroyed, and if they try to call out on the emergency communications, we can maybe talk to the crew!

ETA: There is a new post in "It all started"

Okay I've been working on the coded message Tweet from last week and while I've made progress I don't think I have the entire thing, so I need some help.

The transcription of the tweet is the following:
Quote:
2 4 1 3
Z-EOAEIDPWHKCDLR

EMLHFZFQNTSYQIHCOKSJ
FQSUBIFYMZGJLOKYETDC
V--ZGJOTIQNJQQSJZSU
RZBWLBXFWH--QWIQNQHI
IKLTXUROCQSYXAFXLWA#

Here's my solution so far:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Okay so far I've worked out 2 parts. First is the column transposition of the first line (Z-EOAEIDPWHKCDLR) using the number sequence given (2 4 1 3). You get:
ACZPED-WILEHDROK

Which doesn't mean anything but I then used the two "words" to do a keyed Vigenere decryption of the message block. So using an alphabet key of "WILEHDROK" and a passphrase of "ACZPED", you get this:
THEGATEOPENSANDTHEBE
GINNINGOFTHEENDSTART
S--THEKEYGOESINANKV
MVDPPCRAUU--OIBMCASL
BDXCFVMHRAKZRROJPIQ#

or
THE GATE OPENS AND THE BEGINNING OF THE END STARTS --
THE KEY GOES IN ANKVMVDPPCRAUU--OIBMCASL
BDXCFVMHRAKZRROJPIQ#

I believe there must be a third step (and hopefully that's all!) to translate the gibberish at the end.

Any thoughts??

posse, you left out a letter "N" (where it turns to gibberish) when copying the tweet.

otherwise, great job !

i'll leave it for you to post the result...

OMG thanks arthurdent!! I am pretty careless it seems! Embarassed Okay so here's the solution when you *correctly* transcribe the tweet:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
THEGATEOPENSANDTHEBE
GINNINGOFTHEENDSTART
S--THEKEYGOESINANDTH
ETIMESTOPS--SAYGOODB
YESAYHELLOTOTHEFEAR#
or
THE GATE OPENS AND THE BEGINNING OF THE END STARTS --
THE KEY GOES IN AND THE TIME STOPS --
SAY GOODBYE SAY HELLO TO THE FEAR#

I wonder if this points to something, but I am taking a BREAK tonight so I'll come back to it tomorrow! Cool

Hello, I am here to inform you that I have successfully established remote connection into the RMSS. The emergency data lines went online a few hours ago, however, the communication lines are offline. I am attempting to fund a bypass. In the meantime, I am completing synchronization processes and system updates to pass to the RMSS. Diagnostic data should be available once the synchronization process completes in a couple of hours. This usually doesn't take long, however, the extended duration that the RMSS is offline generated more data than usual.

This just came in.

I just found this thread today and it seemed interesting. Unfortunately I have to go into work, but has anyone dug into the first tweet any more? With little time all I could come up with was finding a Sol Cycle being 11 years. Any info I may have missed (and I will read more to get up to date after work) would be great. Otherwise I may play with some maths and see what the numbers are and what it has to do with Sol Cycles...if at all.

Been away for a bit, but it seems LAINSY was successful in connecting to the ship.

Hello, I am very glad to inform you that the communications bypass was
successful. I now have near-realtime communications between FAILTECH and
the RMSS. However, in the process regular data communications is suspended.

So I wonder if that means we can now communicate with the ship? Any other recent leads?

ETA: I don't know if this is what they meant by regular data communications being suspended, but now "It All Started" is way different and mostly blank.

Well the first part decodes as :

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hex

LD;EV:AF;EV:AG;IQ:74:BA;IQ:11:AG;BB

The switching of colon to semicolon is a little odd....

If I remember right, there was something like that with the calibration data from the first message on oriruserku. Can recheck later. I never made anything of it.

Just wanted to give an update, which might clue in on what might be going on. I've been interacting with 3 characters in this story:

LAINSY (commandSPLATlainsy.net) - As an AI, LAINSY is very helpful with answering questions and reviewing the logs/data that was downloaded from the RMSS. I've found a trigger on a keyword search of the RMSS logs for the word "GAKTUN" (mentioned at http://www.oriruserku.org/):
LAINSY wrote:
There has been one instance of the word "Gaktun" in the recently acquired logs. It reads as follows:

Entry on: 3678-0329-5F3
Entry by: NR-CN-20366
Content: Contact confirmed. Proceeding with safety precautions. Gaktun control sub par.
LAINSY reports that NR-CN-20366 is a civilian employee on the RMSS named Nerrax Rudd. I'm currently having LAINSY search through all of Rudd's activity on the RMSS to find anything suspicious, which might take a while.

John Quill (hubSPLATterran.systems): Quill is a Galactic Union representative for Project Repertum. I had sent him the crew logs from http://itallstarted.com/ since at the time, they had no idea what was going on with the RMSS. He noticed that there were some "SquireLink" mentions in the log, which meant interference from the Oriru Serku. So I've been keeping him updated on other possible Oriru Serku activity, including my suspicions about Nerrax Rudd.

Olyn Carth (olyn.carthSPLATfailtechnologies.com): When the RMSS was in lockdown, Quill referred me to FAILTECH's Chief Architect for Project Repertum, who is Olyn Carth. I was also the one who convinced him to use radio comms combined with a Hyperdimmensional gate in order to try to locate the ship. This led to finding the ship, and then sending probes through the gate to assist and set up a communications link between LAINSY and the RMSS. Currently, Olyn was trying to analyze the "white fog" that surrounded the RMSS that seemed to be interfering with probes' sensors. Despite my warnings to maybe ask the RMSS crew first about their findings, he's started analyzing the fog. Oh well, I tried to warn him. I guess the best I can do is try to get updates from him.

I've tried poking at whoever might be behind the Project Repertum Twitter account, but so far not really much luck there.

I cannot stress that you will get a lot of the story if you can interact with the characters as much as possible. In fact, you steer a lot of the story this way. Please play!! I feel like I'm the only one controlling things at the moment and it's kind of lonely. Wink

Thanks for sharing all that info. I didn't actually know those people's contacts. Ive been trying to work with this one. Seems like maybe you have experience from before. I didn't realize how driven this one is by us.

New tweet:

Quote:
@ProjectRepertum: CRYP: OGBARK KEY: RUSTYD :: POINTER: http://terran.systems/secure/L0/3678-hedo-A9.rep

Leads to a login and password field. Tried the obvi. Haven't figured them out yet...

ETA: Also, "It All Started" seems to be mostly down. Don't know if this is part of the communications being wonky or not...

I must have signed up somewhere, though I don't really remember it. But I just got this email:

Quote:
Hello everyone!

It is me, Rion Gnute, reporting on behalf of the crew of Project Repertum.

I am pleased to report to all of you that the first batch of experiment that the Repertum Mobile Science Station had performed upon arriving from the Origin had been completed. The best news of today is to report that all experiments had results which nearly matched our simulations. While that may sound bad, it is actually good as it means our understanding of the Origin isn't far off from what it actually is.

The next batch of experiments are underway, and hopefully as scientists and explorers we can now actually discover something new! Being proven right feels good, but to be proven wrong is how we as a species move forward to understand the limits and go beyond.

I am also glad to announce that the second Repertum Mobile Science Station is set to launch in the next two years to supplement and provide new tools for the first station. This is of course part of the three phase plan of Project Repertum to complete it's mission. While the second one is in transit, the third final station will be launched two years after to complete the five year phase of the project.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us for questions.

Project Repertum

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Look at this, they lied.
Project Repertum was only
supposed to be a single station.

The ones who went ahead aren't
going to come back.

They are now sending the second
station to cover up the first one

I will be in contact.

I have been communicating with Neilo Coddoran, the XO of the RMSS and he provided me with a login for the http://terran.systems/secure site:
