There's nothing wrong with showing a little support for our fellow triska sister. Very Happy

I can vouch, that blog is OOG (Out of Game) and Mountain Girl's site. I think Triscal saw how people were overanalyzing into it, and called attention to one of our golden rules.

I understand that it is the nature of a puzzler to look deeper into things instead of taking them at face value, but Mountain Girl has done nothing to earn our distrust, so I say lay off the analyzing for a while and give the poor gal some peace and send some positive vibes her way.

They're having some problems right now and even if we all can't assist them financially, we all need to be sending some good vibes/good thoughts/good wishes their way that they don't lose their home. They've got kids for goodness' sake, give them a break. We've seen that Triscal has drawn in OOG things in to make a point, or make a connection with us players, maybe now he's reminding us to think about how it would be if the shoe was on the other foot and we were in MG's position.

I'm not attacking anyone, don't think that at all. I like everyone here at UF, and over at LL. But fate has thrown us together in this game as a team, and I just think we should quit giving MG grief over this (Goodness knows she has enough on her plate already) and we could better serve our time trying to think up a possible solution for our Dearest Girl of the Mountains than picking her plea apart as if it were some kind of clue. I say we use our crafty research skills and get to googling some possible answers and solutions for this family. Remember, we're all in this together, as one. Let's prove that by showing when one of us falls, others will be there to help pick you up.

You've got me all wrong, I think you're reading too much into my post, I didn't mean anything against Moutain Girl, call me stunned but I didn't even know that the blog belong to her, I didn't mean to give anybody grief, I thought he had just chosen MG's page as a link to somebody else's site, I'm sorry if anybody took it for more than it was, just an observation, nothing more.

I have been doing some thinking about the significance of the "tortuga" link on the moon phases page. The tortuga site is promoting a worldwide calendar reform enabling global use of the 13 month lunar calendar. Many non-western cultures (Hindu, Muslim, Chinese) already use this system while Westerners mark the passage of time using a lunar-solar combination called the Gregorian calendar which has its basis in Christianity. It should also be noted that the Jewish peole have their own seperate calendar system.
My point is, maybe the tortuga link is there to get us thinking about the arbitrary nature of time itself. Time is really just a mentally percieved phenomenon. That is, it is not something that we physically percieve through our senses, but something we have come up with intellectually. This may be a stretch...but if different cultures are operating using different measurements of time, then it is possible that at any given moment two individuals of different cultures may be existing simultaneously at different "times". For example, by the Gregorian calander we are currently in the 2005th year, but according to the Jewish calander (which counts from the day of creation) we are already in the year 5765. So. in all actuality, time travel is possible as long as you travel across cultures and not in some spaceship.
Anyway, I hope this makes sense and doesn't sound too crazy.
Edit: Sorry if my post is too long Sad

Audioslave, although your post sorta sparked mine, it wasn't directed at you. I was pretty much addressing everyone who had been doubting MG's intentions that hadn't actually spoke with her about it... I understand that you were just being a good observer and there's nothing wrong with that, I'm sure we're all glad to have great eyes like yours here in the community. I'm sorry you took it that I was attacking you.

I had just got done catching up from yesterday and had seen how many people had spec'd MG's original post to no end, (I should have addressed that in my post, that was my mistake) and I was just giving her a little backup. (I can't help defending a friend, it's my nature. You'll find in time I'm quite loyal.)

I apologize if this offended you, that's the most terrible thing about the internet, sometimes miscommunication happens.
Words are words---alone, they have no feeling, no expression. We gather our own interpretation from what we see, collectively from our own personal experience...

A thousand pardons for my trespass.

ETA: Let's all just tear down the fort walls and put this behind us and move forward. Spread a little love, a little comfort, and a little happiness. Can we call a truce?

it makes sense to me.. i actually think alot about things the like the objectivity of time. If there is nothing there to mark it does it still exist? is it possible all things are happening simultaneously and the sense of forward motion is just our minds limited method of dealing with the mass sensory input etc. etc.

hey all
i'm new to the world of args so ive just been lurking for the past few days but I had a couple thoughts so i figured i'd toss em' out there.

1)triska and Triscal sound very similar hmm.

2)the f with the sideways 8 on graemes scribe page could mean fate (kinda like l8ter) no idea how it relates to triska but there it is.

3)on the page of islingtons notebook with the names of the authors did anyone else notice the stone in the upper right hand corner. looks kinda like the one in tobys scribe page.

well theres my 2 cents
i dont know where this will lead but i cant wait to find out.

I didn't notice that before, but I think it has to be a clue. On Toby's scribe page it says:
Quote:
There's more info on the disk hidden in the notebook.

Does this mean that Toby already has book zero? I noticed on the Vibration 13 site there was a link in the "friends" section to Book which is an art project in which a sketch book was sent back and forth between two artists who added a new page each time they recieved it.
Maybe Toby has book zero now and he will pass it off to someone in London soon (Greame?). Kinda like a game of tag.

Edit (new development)- Someone just posted a comment over at lazylaces saying that he knows Toby and asked about the reference to the Cancer Research UK. I checked his MySpace profile that was linked at the bottom of his comment and his name is Ash, he lives in Swansea, and he works for the Cancer Research in Swansea. I emailed him to ask if he knew about the delivery of any package containing keys. Now waiting for his response.

Edit #2: Ash(a.k.a. Kipperlooney) responded that he is playing Triska and that he was "invited" by Toby. He also posted on LL that he doesn't "know exactly" what was in the package only that the package itself was "goldey" in color (his words).

Just an observation, but I believe the stones on Islington's notebook, and Toby's scribe page are obsidian. Toby's may be snowflake obsidian.

Hi Very Happy
Just out of curiosity, why does the guy in islington's notebook have a hole in his sixth Chakra? Cause I just watched a CSI where they shot a guy there (Its his third eye) and, well, again with the coincidences. For what its worth, I plan to find out the name of that bridge on Monday, I hope 6sided^2 can catch you up on how we got to talking about that.
Yours most sincerely
"Dejected" Duckie

Hey, I'm hoping no one posted this yet. When I right clicked the picture in duckie's scribe page (hi duckie!) I felt like pressing play so I did and then my mouse moved around a kind of spotlight circle on the picture but I realized it was zooming in and I found this

Which is Here on the map.

X marks the spot =)
