[EMAIL] from Sarah Aug 8 About friends, mystes and Pixie

Quote:

Dear Drizabella,

I keep meaning to ask you - is your name inspired by Cats's Grizabella?
Although "Memory" became its own little cliche, I think that the lyrics to the
song, along with the character of the proud but humble Glamor Cat who wants
nothing more than for someone to touch her hand, is so incredibly poignant. A
bit trite, but a very effective reminder of our mortality.

Anyway, I did want you to know that I have taken your advice to heart and I have
a call into Dale to see if we can chat about some of these things. Feel better?
Wink I am not sure when we'll have time to sit down and chat, but it will
happen soon.

I have not visited with Mr. Willingham lately, no. I do understand that there
was a bit of a to-do regarding some of his private correspondence made public.
From what I heard, he is quite ill indeed. I feel so terrible for him and poor
Phyllis. No matter how strong my friendship is with her, he is still her soul
mate. I hope that, by moving close to him, they are able to beat this thing
together. I will miss her something fierce, though. I don't even have Meaghan
to keep me company anymore... haven't talked to her in forever. I hope she's
okay. I know she's had a very rough time with her parents splitting up.

I've been doing some ruminating on the Mystes.com thing and come up with what I
think is a pretty good theory. I've had a contentious relationship with some
of the local townspeople for quite some time, and the digitization debate made
some tensions boil over for many people. I think that some kids might have
overheard their parents talking about me and decided to make that silly site
and put the pictures of my masks on there to implicate me somehow. I bet that
it dies down on there once school starts back up!

I never have heard from the person who has Knowledge. Will you please tell her
to try to contact me via this address? Maybe there's an issue with the
Aglaura.org mail. Thank you so much!

Yours,
Sarah, the incredibly slow email writer *blush*

Huh?! Sarah never heard from Pixie?!
Hmm, what is this exchange then? Does Sarah have amnesia? Did someone else intercept that email, and pretend to be Sarah? This is very strange indeed.
I've been using this address to contact Sarah..
webmistressSPLATsixthofnever.com
Below is what I had sent in response to this email from Sarah.
Quote:

Dear Sarah,
No apology is needed, really. You have been though so much...it's understandable.
Thank you for your thoughtful reply and compliments. But I don't remember ever saying that I was either dull OR plain. Smile
Hey, I'm unique...just like everyone else. lol

Now, I could say that I won't accept any apology until and unless you sit down with Dale and talk about all his ""Series of Unfortunate Coincidences" as you call them. (I don't believe in coincidences, I believe in a collective unconscious, a thin veil between this life and the one beyond, and the spaces in between that connects us with *everything* else. ) But, I wouldn't do that.

I just wish that you and Dale would sit down and talk about all of this... what's in the foundation of the library..what's behind the wall in the basement of The Hollow Needle...your common dreams..and so much more.
Speaking of The Hollow Needle; I strongly advise you NOT to move there, but I know you think you must. So the best I can say is, please, do be careful in your old home, Sarah. I'm afraid that something evil resides there and is waiting for you. I can't tell you how I know this right now, but I will in time. Have you visited Mr. Willingham lately?

Do *I* think that Mystes.com is important?! Have you seen these?
http://www.mystes.com/simon.html
http://www.mystes.com/venus
Distorted images of your masks are on there!
And now TWO masks recovered!
I don't know what it means.
It's some sort of initiation, following the rites of Mithraism.
And now, their latest decoded message:"At certain times, certain people are able to see into different worlds. Find us such a person."
It seems as though they are calling for a sacrifice! This stuff scares me!

I hope that you have been able to get in touch with the person who wrote to you about the mask in the interim of this reply. If not, let me know and I will get a message to her.

Yes, indeed...yes. It is really *something*... this banding together of people from all corners of the globe. Literally strangers, but virtual collaborators. I'm thrilled to be a part of this extraordinary experience with you and them!

Your friend,
Drizabella

Does Sarah's visit to the mystes site constitute sending someone to fulfill this demand? ..."At certain times, certain people are able to see into different worlds. Find us such a person."
Ugh, I hope not..not my Sarah...let's send Iris...yeah, that's the ticket. I hope it's not too late.

i sent her a message on AIN on the 4th saying
Quote:
Hey, this is Taryn. It wasn't until I was logged in that I realized almost no one would know who I am. Don't know why I didn't choose my real name, Oh well!!!

How is the move to the new/old library going???

i just got her response
Quote:
Taryn! Holy smokes, am I glad to hear from you. I've been trying to send you email but it's either bounced, or I haven't gotten a reply. How is everything? How's Knowledge? I was trying to make sure you didn't mind holding on to the old girl for me. Please drop me a line either at librarySPLATaglauranj.org or webmistressSPLATsixthofnever.com and let me know what address to use for you, and I will forward you my original message to you.

Best wishes,
Sarah Wyatt

I just responded with:
Quote:
Of course I don't mind holding onto the mask. I must say, I am growing attached to it!!! Such beauty... but we can discuss my love of your art another time. Last email I got from you asked me to hold onto the mask for safe keeping, and told me you would have to take me up on Rita's another time! I am looking forward to that other time.

So, about the library?

I received this:

Quote:

Dear Mountain Girl,

Shame on me for not getting back to you sooner. You've sent me a
couple of
emails and I just now realized that the responses I thought I had sent
were
still stagnating in my email program!

First of all, about that Mystes/egregore thing... that's really wild.
I have no
idea who runs that site or why they would be using pictures of my
masks. I'm
tempted to write them off as kids with nothing better to do while
school is
out. To be honest, I've not always had a great relationship with all
the
citizens of Aglaura, and the recent digitization plan really
underscored that.
Maybe some kids overheard their parents talking about me and decided
they were
going to do this anonymous mystery thing and try to implicate me? I
don't
know... that's about the best I can come up with.

I do like the term "egregore," though. It can be really nice, the sort
of "hive
mind" principle, if its directed towards good.

Anyway, don't you just love the Celtic knots? They are so intricate;
symmetrical but complex, without beginning or end. Sort of a
complicated
ouroboros. Although I don't watch many television shows or movies, one
of my
favorites is The Lion King, and I think I must have drawn some
subconscious
inspiration from the song "Circle of Life" when I was working on
Nature.

I have been too busy with everything lately. I go from one sort of
busy to
another with seemingly no time to breathe. I'd say I need a vacation,
but then
I'd just be busy planning it. It's good to be busy though. Too much
time means
too much thinking. The nights get very long sometimes.

Yours,
Sarah Wyatt

Just a little tidbit from AIN. Nothing game, just social.

Dear Heather,

Normally I am not one for mysteries, but I also enjoy Sue Grafton. I find myself identifying with her heroine's isolation sometimes. I also have my little quirks, although I have never embraced the peanut butter and pickle sandwich.

I will bite any ice cream that doesn't bite me first. This summer I have been on a mint chocolate chip kick.

Damn, now I have a craving. Guess I'm going to the store tonight.

Best,
Sarah Wyatt

I'm really into Mysterys. I love Sue Grafton's books (listen to them on tape while walking).

What *is* your favorite ice cream? I like vanilla ice cream with stuff in it (like BR Quarterback Crunch, or Haagen Daaz Cookies & Cream).

Huh?! Sarah never heard from Pixie?!

Maybe Sarah was referring to History, does she know who has that mask?

I've also received my first AIN message from Sarah today Smile

Quote:
Dear Pilar,

This is the very first message I have sent on the system so I certainly hope I am doing it right! I am still very busy getting things moved into the new location, but it's all proceeding smoothly. Thank you for asking.

As for ice cream, I am not sure if there is an ice cream I've met that I don't like. Wink Depending on my mood, I like mint chocolate chip, coffee with Heath bar, or Cherry Garcia. I wouldn't turn down any ice cream, though.

Best wishes,
Sarah Wyatt

Glad to see you here.. how's the moving to the Hollow Neddle going?
I've seen you profile and I have to ask it... WHAT'S THE BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WORLD?? Very Happy

Thanks so much for thinking about me. Yes, "busy bee" pretty much sums it up! I never thought I had so much stuff. I'm taking a sort of vicious pleasure in throwing away old things that I don't use anymore. "I'll never find a matching button for this shirt! Away with it!" It's fun in a perverse sort of way... like cleaning out the refrigerator.

Yes, I used to live in the house where the Hollow Needle was. My life story is admittedly unusual and I don't have many recollections of my childhood in the Ashram, but I was taken in by Hamilton and Amelia Wyatt, who lived in that house. After they died several years ago, I eventually sold the house to J.D. and Phyllis Willingham, who converted it to house both private quarters and an antique store. I'll be moving into the private quarters area and setting up the Library where the old store used to be.

Take care,
Sarah Wyatt

Here's her reply to mine

Well, you know they are saying that orange is the new black. Wink

Actually, I'll be moving to the edge of the woods, too. I've been
spending all week getting my things together both at home and what's left
of the Library to move them into the old Hollow Needle. So yes, life is
definitely looking up for me, especially when it's daylight outside and
the birds sing their sweet songs. I just wish the nights were shorter.

I hope you get your telephone woes solved soon.

Yours,
Sarah Wyatt

and here's what I sent her

nope, she meant me and knowledge...

got another response on AIN:
Quote:
Taryn,

Boy, talk about crossed wires. Good, so you did get that email - I sent it to a couple of different addresses that had your name attached to them. The first address I sent it to was giving me error messages, and then I never heard back from you after I sent it to the other address! No matter, it all worked out in the end, thank goodness.

Anyway, the move is going well. I'm busy organizing and coordinating, trying to figure out where to put which sections and the like. Sometimes having a blank slate to start with is a little overwhelming. I'm muddling through, though, and I am making good progress. Thank you for asking.

Best,
Sarah

personally, can't figure out what "other addresses" she would have tried, my name is only attached to one...
