Why is the startup screen Copyright 2002, and the software 1977. Looking through history, or time travel related?

For those of you who can't access IRC-- we're basically just comparing the rates at which our bytes are increasing. None of us are increasing at a rate faster than 1 or 2 bytes every 5 seconds or so. No one's gone above 15690 yet.

OK Please be sure to have someone post a summary of the IRC as "some of us" (read: ME) cannot access IRC at work...

OK it's at it again. Hmmm.. I'll keep you guys posted. I don't know what will happen but if it keeps jumping up like this, it will finish a lot sooner than 1 week for me.
Code:
[1] Previously accessed
[2] Sectors loaded
[3] Sectors loaded
[4] Sectors loaded
[5] Accessing File List B4 - 32534 of 134640 Bytes Loaded
This is odd. On my computer it is still chugging along on number three.

It always seems to jump way up while I'm not looking (like when I do actual work)
I'm contemplating doing a video capture.
Does your work interfere with your internet connection at all? Or even use it?
I've been able to produce a 10 byte gap between my original opening of the site in FF, and a second one I opened in safari by reloading the safari one occasionally now it's ahead of my original.
This is odd stuff.
I'm on a proxy. We've got some content filtering but it's pretty loose. Ummm...wireless. I'm using FF.
I will leave the window open but I'm going to open the site on a mac and see if there is a difference.
ETA: I've got the normal countdown on the mac. 15026 bytes loaded

Anyone want to take this to IRC? We can compare what Byte we're on and see what if anything causes it to go faster.
I'm on irc.chat-solutions.org in #super8
