"Stop posting publicly"

I thought about the "Stop posting publicly" thing and the only way we can "stop posting publicly" is if we moved all our discussions to private messages. Then I thought if the PDP-11 had a private message function and I came across Talk (software):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_(software)

And get this, it was available in the 1970s for PDP-11 systems... Im just looking for anything remotely important.

EDIT: Link is slightly damaged, but it takes you to a page where you have to scroll down and find "talk (software)"

Please use Search .
If you are not familiar with it's use, here's how.
The terms I used to find those post results were "license plate".

License Plate

Hey, has anyone tried to extract the license plate number from the pick-up? If someone does do this, we may find an approximate location of the train crash, and thus a possible setting for the movie.

Interesting coincidence: the date of the JFK speech featured in that newspaper (July 26th 1963) was the same day NASA launched "Syncom", the world's first geostationary satellite. Tenuous relevance at present, but given USAF involvement, the idea of "Rocket" Poppeteers, spacemen and the like - can't rule out anything!

Really sorry if the points already been brought up. But if we've established that the paper is from the 60's, and the film is set in the 70's does that mean that

a) The creature has been loose before?
b) This message is from the people who originally found it?
c) It's simply an old newspaper that's been used to code a new message?
d) Dates don't matter at all.

Sorry it's just confusing me a bit. Razz
(I'm also a bit of a noob to all this)

No, it's a good question. Perhaps the ARG story will be prequell to the movie? Or perhaps the ARG story will have some time leaps, which we will be able to see through the date information in PDP-11 console.

We have really to keep in mind this fact of this time gap.

It does if someone (IG, presumably) is posting publicly (ie - posting questions, info, or guesses/theories in public places).

Trout me if you will but has anyone suggested that this "Stop posting publicly" may be a clue to the "device" log in? I guess what I am trying to say is maybe this person telling us to "stop posting publicly" wants us to get on a secure line/channel/server? Perhaps we must find the terminology in the PDP-11 for "secure" communication or "private chat" etc.

never thought of that could be but still would have to wait till something happens to show us where or how im sure it has to do with the membership most likely

Is this correct?

There is only one "n" in Minot. Other than that you're good to go.

I think we're at a standstill now until one of the pages is updated or we get a response from our astronaut applications but I like the way you think.
