If the trailer is at all indicative of how the rest of the film will be shot, then we can assume it won't be hand-held cameras.

I as well hope it is not shot that way.It doesnt make me motion sick.But to me it ruins the film and story.It doesnt feel real to me I would rather see it done as a normal movie for me to get into it.But thats me and now you know the rest of the story

I'm kind of hoping that it's not shot like cloverfeild. Even though it looks more realistic it's hard to enjoy a movie if your motion sick the entire time.

FilmEdge: Good point, I quickly forgot that shooting doesn't start until the fall. When I see a trailer there is a naive part of me that thinks the finished product is very close, I totally forgot how some trailers may just be used for pure promotional purposes ... and nothing more.

There's a small part of me that hopes it is shot the way Cloverfield was shot. Seeing special effects with a moving camera with the focus going off and on really sells it to me. I'm 29 and when I had first seen Cloverfield I was actually scared ... which is strange because I haven't seen a movie that really put that kind of fear into me since I was a kid. Even though I knew it wasn't real, a part of me believed it happened.

Hobbes, I don't think production has even started yet on SUPER 8, so it's quite theoretical until then. I agree, I've heard rumors that it will not be shot all hand-held as was CLOVERFIELD, but until JJ says action, we can't know for sure.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this, but I was wondering if anyone knows how the style of filming will be? Is it the shaky cam like in Cloverfield, or filmed more like a regular movie? I thought I read somewhere J.J. confirming or denying, but can't seem to find the right source.
