This is my first post but I think I have found something interesting.

I don't know if this has been posted before but on ScariestThing if you type ".REENTER" at the end it prompts a "MOUNT CONTINUE Y/N?". If you then enter "Y" it brings up "DEVICE?"

I have done some snooping around and found that no one has figured out the "device" to mount, but the interesting part is this: If, when prompted to mount the device, you press tab you begin to see small yellow boxes. You can press it a number of times and the yellow box will move to different positions. Pressing Enter over these yellow boxes seems to do something.

For instance, pressing enter over one box brings up the "VER" Printout. A few of them make an odd noise.

Just found this interesting and worth noting. Hopefully something comes of it.

Welcome, Ryan, but you'll need to read the existing threads to catch up with the ARG progress, as players found what you're talking about nearly two months ago:

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=702910&search_id=1230053175#702910

Meanwhile, the holiday barbeque is grilling up some Omega-3 rich trout for you to enjoy.

Ah, I'm very sorry. Now I feel like an idiot. I just found out about this ARG and have never really participated in one seriously. Luckily, I do know what the term "trout" means Laughing Thank you for being so kind and not blowing up on me.

I just hope I will be able to contribute to this community eventually. Confused

We all start somewhere Ryan, don't worry even some who have been here a while find themselves subjected to the Omega-3 on occasion. Smile

Welcome to the game and I'm sure you will be able to contribute!

No worries at all, Ryan. Just try to catch up on reading the best you can, and use the Search function before you start a thread/post in case your suggestion's already been covered. It's a lot to catch up with, we know. But the stack of posts will only get higher.

The trout's all good, and good for you! We look forward to your participation, as with all new players.

idk if anyone checks out super8news.com, but one of its post is about possible casting for super 8. one of the main characters is named josh. if that was honestly a casting call for super 8, then this is a weird coincidence.

I've been working on the note that is layered on top of the funeral notice.

I have a couple things figured out, but I'm struggling with it overall. Might be a dead end, but worth looking into.

I did some altering of the photo, it's attached. What I can make out is below, with unknown letters represented as dashes.

C--- Fo-- D--- (and then a character off to the side that looks like a 6)
White Sw--- (I think sword?) (and then the number 6 in a circle)
L-w (maybe?) S--- (and then the number 7 in a circle)

Any thoughts?

It's also worth commenting that the position of the funeral notice and water image are different on different craigslist posts.

I see what looks like: Dress, White Swan, Sled. Looks like an inventory of things he is selling.

Hopefully super8news also reported there's a good chance that casting call was for another movie completely, a remake of LITTLE DARLINGS that Abrams is producing (only).

The debate goes on whether that is a cover for SUPER 8, but there's at least one industry article mentioning the LD remake long before the casting sheet news broke that got ARGers thinking it was SUPER 8.

For now, I think it's a separate film OOG and Josh is a coincidence. Time will tell.

Welcome to UNfiction!

I got you a little basket of Howdy-do! It's okra! Me and the missus grow the hell out of it! Personally I can't stand the stuff...

There's a little trout in there though.

If you follow this link you will find both the discovery and subsequent squashing of this lead within a few posts: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=29639
Also, theres a topic based on this, abet a rather short one, here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=29809

It's flaky!

Lol, it's all good my friend. It's funny you put the Okra with the Trout because thats usually what we ate with our fish. One day I will leave this God forsaken place and once again partake of the warmth of the sun, salt water fishing, and good ole southern hospitality. Look out Florida here I come! In about 5 years that is.
