Agreed... thought it was first in a group at first, but this didn't happen with not_anymore. However, xnbomb and mike_was's axons both were at popular locations...

My conversation was a new phone, but an established location.

Lots of hard work to get to this point man. I have made sure that EVERY Boise, ID axon went hot every round (save round 1 which had a bad phone # which I then proceeded to contact Melissa in such a way that she changed the phone #) and most of them on the first day. Many hours coordinating spreadsheet, team members, searching web-sites, helping with puzzles. It's been GREAT! Good thing I've got A-a flexible lunch hour (stay in school and get professional jobs kids) and B-a really cool boss who understands a little distraction like this and likes Halo too.

Sounds like you had a blast. Well, you deserved it. You've done a heck of a job it seems.

Thanks team Boise! Thanks to Brian at the DoubleTree hotel and Justin at the Pizza Hut! Thanks boss! OK, now that's starting to sound like I'm accepting an emmy or something Laughing

yah, mine was at the same hotel but the middle phone instead of the left one. Same GPS though. And it was one that had been answered multiple times before yes.

Man! It sure sounds like that was a blast being "The One" who got the live call. Congratulations weephun.

I kept hoping that Memphis would have gotten more axons. I have tried contacting Melissa every week also to provide additional coordinates for her. I have driven all over the Memphis area getting phone #'s and GPS locations to give to her, but I have not seen anything happen.

Oh well, I'm still having a ton of fun with this game. I wish there was more I could do.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Definitely. I've been hoping all day that all the the live calls would be spaced a little farther so people hitting the later West coast axons could get one, but I guess not. Oh well. I was hoping to be an Admiral ...

(But still, I'm having fun.)

Weepun, I love you and hate you at the same time. If she calls you, be sure to tell us how it goes!

Nothing will keep me from these axons now!

Hey, congratulations guys on your "promotions". I wish I were as lucky as you guys... I got my 5 phones all to myself, so my phones will probably never be popular phones. So if I don't answer them, heh, they go unanswered...

Stupid Pittsburgh... oh well... I'll just keep doing my duties here in the field... Call me if you need something...

-Del

Edit: If anything, Bungie demoted me... I lost 2 axons and gained one I really can't get to. Damn it...

so weephun and other "ranked" beekeepers...
if she's going to call your phone, see what you can do to record it. You probably have a week to figure it our.
A lot of cell phones can record calls if you find the option...
A landline recorded through a computer maybe, I'd have to look, that up...
Way to go though, and I know you'll keep us posted on it all.

I'm annoyed that the nearest axons to me were two difficult hours away. I either had to drive into the maze that is Pittsburgh, or drive to middle-of-nowhere, WV. I live in a city with the state university, and the only WV axon was down in freaking Spencer.

Meanwhile, the DC people had over a dozen axons. Gah.

pressure

I don't perform well under pressure.

I was aiming for the 14:13 and 14:23 axons today. I was the only one at the 14:13 and it didn't ring. I picked up the hand set briefly at the alotted time, but no call! Maizen confirmed that this phone has rung in the past, I even verified the GPS with him afterwards; they did not change (and for that, I owe him a beer!). So I get to the 14:23 thinking, "Why the heck didn't it ring?!?" My mind was distracted.

I've been to the 14:23 location so I know which phone it is. This time the phone rings. There was a longer than normal pause, I had to say hello two or three times to get a response. This is on one of the busiest streets in San Francisco, so I had to hit the Loud button twice to hear her. Melissa was there, her schpiel was the same, but it sounded clearer; no "ilovebess" in the background. She asked me what her favorite game was. I said "Hide and Seek" . She said "Good" like she normally would. This is when it goes downhill.... She proceeds to say "But I'm not sure you aren't a recording. Do something that would prove you are not." Three letters appear in my mind. W. T. F. So I figure that since she has been asking all the questions up until now, I should ask her a question. My mind is on overdrive, it's hot, I just ran a freaking mile to get to the previous phone so I answer, "Well, let me ask you a question. What happened to the Apocalypso." This was possible the stupidest thing I have ever done. I realized it as soon as I said it. WTF did I say! After a brief pause, she said something like, "This isn't right, I have to go." and the line went dead immediately. *sigh*

I feel defeated. Oh for two today. I hope Ceantari and I have better luck getting some hot later today.

At least when I fall down, I get back up. Congratulations to xnbomb, Mike Was, Mann-Alive, weephun, Chappy and Shad0!
