Scrabble

Good point. I couldn't get a word off _IF. Perhaps the first word is

_ _ _ _ _ B _ thus using the one below B, then the 2nd word uses the one in the corner, getting aa 8 and a 6 at triple points. Kind of hard to engineer that though.

Let me remind everyone of a courtesy we extend on rapid puzzle-solving like this. Chat and Forum are two different places. Most people do not have access to chat, esp. during the day, and when they get home whatever happened in chat is long gone. This is why forum credit for solves is separate. If you get a solve (without help from chat) and post here first, you get "first". Yes it 's just for here, that's the best we can do for you. I know the wiki crew is grabbing solves wherever they can, but we like to share solve credit if we can.

One important reason for this - chat is transient; people who can't check the forum until tonight are not helped by a solve in chat, even if the link gets posted here at some point. WE WANT THE FULL SOLVE HERE! Please.

Re: groupofjars

On the scrabble board: Play C, L, and M around the A in BANS to get CLAM. Then play the remaining H, O, W, D, E, and R after the C in CLAM to get CHOWDER. Like this:

CHOWDER
L
ANS (won't line up unless I leave off the 'B')
M

All letters used, no rules broken, and the result:

clam_chowder.

Edit to post complete solution. I learned my lesson from last week, when I took the time to explain everything before hitting "submit" and then someone else snuck in with the solution first.

With the fashion images, I think we're looking at

? ?? TH or ? ?? T for smoker.jpg (depending upon whether the numbers in the picture refer to number of letters needed or not). Tommy on its own would probably do for Tommy Hilfiger. I can wildly speculate that the first image looks like a classic Chanel suit a bit. No clue on the middle one.

For margaret's_market.jpg we have ?? ?? ?? R / RL / P (the last one could possibly be Ralf Lauren / Ralf / Polo ?

The suitcase.. is that a Louis Vuitton? I looked on their website but can't see anything similar there this season. I think Gucci have big rings as logos rather than understated rectangular motifs. Guy in sharp suit - Giorgio Armani design?

I'm mostly just throwing names out there as possibilities rather than certainties.

From NA-CAT, "when I play tic-tac-toe, I get my head into every move."

What if it isn't who is in the pictures, but the directions they are looking? This could be indications of which squares to look at in the superposed tic tac toe games.

1 - center
2 - center left
3 - lower right
4 - center left (or upper right due to eyes)
5 - upper right.
...

I haven't been able to work anything from it yet, the associated square is often empty, but thought I would throw it out!

I think you are right on track, and the 1s and 2s would be what word the letters go to. (Assuming a two word name with a _ in between.) P for polo and RL for Ralph L. both seems reasonable. We'll probably just have to guess.

I think your right about the rest, Louis Vuitton always has that LV somewhere, it seems. (Otherwise, how will people know how much you spent on your luggage?)

I double-checked it. Those are the letters left.

There's even a modicum of credit for first person to rush over from chat and post solves here, giving full credit to the solver, who we want to stay in chat working on more solves....

I get "Turn -To- Face -You"

Coincidence? Smile

Like your thinking a lot! - unfortunately turn_to_face_you.wav is a 404
