[OT] Puzzle To Fill The Time Hey y'all -
Considering we were all complaining about how nothing was happening and we wanted something to do, I thought I'd make a puzzle to send to Scarlett (ala RobPal's idea) that would double as a little challenge for us bored people to do (well, obviously not me of course, but everyone else).
I posted it a week or so ago, but I don't think anybody saw it (or nobody could be bothered doing it). So I'm posting it again in an easier to find location:
http://www.perplexingproductions.com/scarlett
If you're keen for it, you can discuss the solve here.
Hope ya have fun -
Sparkanum

Nifty idea. Kinda makes me wish I was any good at solving puzzles.

Sparky,
Can't believe there is that much apathy on a site where everyone is bitching about lack of puzzles - too hard maybe??

I'm not afraid to say that I'm at a total loss. Of course, I'm almost always at a total loss so that may not mean anything!

If I knew what you did to the news paper clippings it would be a LOT easier =P
These are my attempts:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I assumed that you meant the letters that were converted from the binary ? anyways.. if you count them and then square them you get 3.. which isn't really much of a direction.
I have taken the first letter of each word :
ihsqfybitdwrdamtiapjctaltgyalmfayhtdtgtmqidwwdwtncjtattjctlstaftd
and rotted it..
doesnt bring back anything.
tried using a vignere decipher on it using the decrypted binary (as its original and also anagramed form) as the key.. nothing..
counted all the letters in the puzzle and found the square root: 16.21727474022685477424268317327 which isnt much of a direction either.
made the encrypted binary into a 3x3 square:
aio
ndo
rie
read it in all directions.. nothing..
couldn't transfer the biniary into a square as there are 80 digit's.. if there were 81, I could possibly make 9 by 9's.. I made it into a rectangle though.. 10x8
0110000101
1010010110
1111011011
1000100000
0110010001
1011110111
0010011010
0101100101
and then read the binary downwards and decoded it..
got random ascii.
Tried the same thing with the first letter off each word.. there is 66 letters so unable to turn it into a square..
If someone knows what he is talking about with the newspaper clippings.. fess up =)

Yeah, I'm pretty stumped by this. What text are we suypposed to do the "newspaper clippings" (I assume you meant the various newspaper ads) technique on?

Why use a .jpg when normal words are good enough?
I think it is stegged too, but am clueless about stegging. Do I need a specific program to unsteg it or will anything work?
Will try though, in the abscence of any insights on the game.

Also thinking stegged. Possibly using the program camouflage? Only problem is that you need a password to un-steg. These clues will probably lead us to the password (numeric?) if only we understood them!

Puzzle Hey gys - am overseas, and on crappy pulic internet.
This keyboard sucks too.
All I have to say is that one of you has the right anagram, and another has the right idea of what to do with it. Run with it!
Talk to you when I can, and keen to see what progress ya made -
