Actually, Intel is stale. AMD and IBM are doing the heavy lifting and development. Intel processors kinda... SUCK LIKE NOTHING CAN COMPARE.

OK but what does it have to do with the puzzle?

Nothing. And I think we should end this long conversation about technical specs right now.

I was just trying to clear things up. Sorry for redirecting the thread.

Well, most of that is a guess. But I'm pretty sure I'm right. I may have made a couple of mistakes though.

Thanks Jalexster for spelling it out for us, and I think you are right on the money. We shouldn't be feeding into Raiden though. Raiden if you want to discuss rumors about the XBOX2 itself please take it to another forum, this thread is meant to discuss any puzzle that might be hidden in this reward picture or any of the others.

Srry about flying off the handle, but he said all this stuff about Xbox 360 Specs, and had no proof, thnx fer the proof, now back to the numbers......

anyone think that Gamem8ker is going to put numbers/letters in evry image??? and in continuing ones?

I agree, I just wonder when they will fit together to lead us somewhere, and will it be part of the final puzzle?

Just a note about the memory card pic. When rotated 180 it looks to me there is a "7" above the card and a "3" in the bottom right corner. So "73". Incidently, the "Beware" comic (from the last challenge) was from 1973 as stated here and also the AACI (as in "www.aaci.org" shown in a previous challenge) was founded in 1973, as stated here.

What I would like to know is whether I have missed other links to 1973 in previous challenges.

Isn't 1973 considered the birth of the modern videogame era? And that "casing" looks like the type of plastics used back then too.

I am sorry guys, but I just have to out my two cents in on this one. You're all in need of a little education. The bits in a video game system (8bit, 16bit, etc.) has never referred to the processing of the CPU for the game unit. It has ALWAYS referred to the video capability. So far to date, we have only attained a 128bit video system, nothing higher. The 64 bit systems that you are seeing out on the market now, refer to the CPU speed. And yes, IBM and AMD are the only two companies with a 64 bit processor on the market. It's just that the IBM chip is in an Apple, so you don't here about it as much, but it was the first one on the market. According to the rumored specs, the 360 will have 3 of the IBM chips in it.

okay,
I'm done

There was some speculation in this thread, before ppl started bashing each other with tech. specs., about the file name being a phone number... Personally I think that we have to read the file name back wards so,
3737115
becomes
5117373
Why do I think this? well simple, the fact that you have to rotate the picture to see the numbers properly seems like a clue to me (that and the fact that somebody said they tried the number and it didn't work). As for the area code I'm 99% sure that it would be 312 like the number with the reset reality message and also like the number that is listed in the WHOIS information. Not to mention the numerous other links to Chicago.

Anyways, there are alot of rumours flying around and nobody can be sure of anything much the only really agreed upon things so far are that the controllers will be wireless, there will be different models of the next XBOX (either 2 or 3) and that it will have processor (or processors from IBM) and graphics chips (if I'm not terribly mistaken) from ATI.

Back to the Reward pic now...

Yes, I thought it looked a bit "retro" Smile.
As for 1973, it was around that time when the Odyssey came out, I think. The Pong arcade game came out around that time too. I'm not sure on the exact dates though, might have been 1972 or 1973.

That's the first thing I thought when I saw the pic. the wide seam doesnt match up with the streamlined look. it reminds me more of an old atari game cartridge or something. maybe we should look for an old game that starts with 64. Please no childish attacks. we need to work together instead of comparing penises.

This reward pic may not necessarily be any kind of puzzle but I definitely believe they're trying to give us "73" or "1973" for some reason. 1973 has started to become a common thread of late. It may be another intentional red herring in the grand scheme of things, but we can't really discount any (solid) possibilities at this point.

At the end of this whole thing, I almost expect gamem8ker to say "Now it's time for you to put all the clues together." and put that as the final challenge. Shocked

Ok, well the numbers certainly seem interesting.

For those who thought it might be a phone number:

I thought I'd give you this: I'm in the telecommunications business (specifically I own a software company that creates billing software for the Telephone industry). As such, I have access to all the NPA NXX combinations.

In a 10 digit phone number, the Area Code is the NPA. The first 3 of the 7 digits... 555-1212... [555]... is the NXX. For a phone number to be valid, the NPA & NXX must be a matching combination.

To view all the possible Area Codes for the 2 numbers above (I included the 373 just in case you thought it might be that) I created a list of all the NPA's that use the NXX of 373 or 511.

Go here to view it:

http://www.blognia.com/Fun/NPANXX.asp

I also added mouseover highlight functionality, and clickable highlight functionality so you can see the records more easily. (Go ahead, give it a try). There are 260 records so it's a long list.

EDIT: NOTE* 312) 373-XXXX is a real number... for chicago, IL Smile (but I haven't called it yet. Called and it's a disconnect signal (Or not owned). THis might change in the future (If these numbers become important), but for now it's a disconnect.

EDIT2: NOTE* Also valid (773) 373-XXXX... for chicago, IL Smile Called this one. The message ("The number you have called 7733737115 is being checked for trouble"). Not a message I've ever heard before, but it very well could be a valid message. I suppose we'll see at some point soon if it matters.
