Hmm, it doesn't sound like a real ARG.
Or does it?

The comic book's out already?

And clearly Bluesun.org is a fan site.

Re: the comic...I read somewhere that the first one had already been released with the second one due out in August. Now this article suggests otherwise: The three-issue Dark Horse Serenity miniseries hits comic shops on July 6.

Oh, yes. It also leads to the guy who owns bluesun.org talking about what he plans to do with it. (Linky to the specific post.) Sounds neat, but not strictly ARGish, unless he hears about this stuff and decides to expand. But the ARGN article was linked on Whedonesque (which is where I got the forum link), so maybe he will.

General movie spoiler (not hugely important, but still spoilery):
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Blue Sun isn't really mentioned in the movie at all, unless I missed it, so an ARG based on it would pretty much have free reign to do whatever it wants without worrying about messing with canon.

New ticket dates at cantstopthesignal.com

Albany is listed!! Unfortunately - there aren't online sales for that theatre and it's not listed on the phone sales yet. I called the theatre directly and the guy said it can take up to 24 hours for it to show up - and I get charged a convenience fee why?

Is there anyone in Albany willing to go by the theatre to get me a ticket? I mean, I'd go myself but it's a 3 hour drive, and my luck they'd be sold out by the time I got there.I'd be willing to paypal money asap as well as bake cookies! 2 dozen!!

Puh-lease?

Hmm, you might want to try e-mailing this guy in case he's got some tickets left.

Well, you kinda can, although they might be sold out.

(Heh, before you say anything, I should mention that, at night, there's no sunlight in Bermuda. So it's not as pretty. Also, turns out there's wireless in certain select buildings. Ooh, and they have electricity too! Mr. Green)

Whoo! Congrats! I didn't really think there'd still be tickets. The link came from a search of the Whedonesque thread. Cantstopthesignal remains bafflingly insane.

Grrr - figures those links would go up for the Albany showing after they are already sold out. They certainly weren't there about 11 when I was frantically searching through the websites :/

And, it looks like the SciFi channel has picked up Firefly. All the episodes, including three that never saw the light of day, will be aired.

In the correct order, even. Very Happy

Interesting article about the bizarre marketing strategy

WARNING: there are definite movie spoilers, but they're nicely isolated in the section near the end that starts with "so how's the movie?" in big capital letters. If you stop reading there, you won't see any spoilers.

Interesting note about the hand-written thank you cards. At my screening, people were passing around one of those humongous cards for everyone to sign with a "thank you" message. They were going to send it to Universal execs or something along those lines. I dunno, but I signed.

I just got back from the screening (thank you again soooooo much for that link, Omnie).

Wow. Just, wow. It's been a long time since a film exceeded my expectations like Serenity did.

Wow.

If you haven't seen Firefly yet, go rent or buy the DVD series for THIS weekend, have a Firefly party (you won't be able to stop once you start), then see this when it comes out in September. Then see it again.
