In a summer of remakes, reruns and piss-poor sequels - this movie has an original storyline, subtle humor (yay Kaylie and her battery powered [censored]), and resolution of a story that not only takes the uninitiated from start to finish in the movie, but helps tie up the loose ends from the tv series (so even if you've never seen the tv show, you'll be able to follow pretty well).

However, watching the DVDs, in order, is well worth the 14 hours (no commercials, you can pause for breaks when YOU want, no waiting a whole week for the next episode, etc).

Minor quibbles (i.e. "they didn't really act like they were married; they didn't make that very clear for the non-tv show audience" from konashark, "shouldn't Mal have more scars on his bodilicous body" from me) aside, keep slight eye on the dinosaurs on the bridge (cute toys) and enjoy the ride.

And we'll be going to see it again in September.

I have never seen firefly before i saw the Serenity Trailer. After i saw the trailer, which was like a month ago, i wqen out and loved the series. Now i cant wait to see the movie.
