There are four quicktime movies up on http://www.stolena3.com that show the party at Coachella. Someone named Ezra shot them, and the last one shows what we saw on the webcam, Virgil talking to someone at the party. Todd also writes about the events of that night here .

In defence of the PMs.
When I checked the messages on my cel I found a number of "new" voicemail and text messages from various times yesterday. Most of them were from my friends, stent around times where we split up, and two of them were related to the aborted op. One message was Myke contacting me telling me to go to the fire shooter, the other was just before midnight. Suffice it to say that it was the sort of information that, if we had known it, we would not have stayed until 2:30.

Guys, my heart goes out to the team. You did yoeman's work that evening. It's a pity that an alternate plan couldn't be formed and executed.
As I mentioned earlier, the unexpected arises. For future teams, keep the communication tight! Ad libbing is great, but we are missing a lot of intel on these ops.
Clearly Nisha and her crew don't have enough data to guarantee their own success! However, that's what is making this interesting. Ask yourself this question, was the failure necessray to the game? Is there anything new to learn?
Don't be too quick to judge these actions in a negative light. I am impressed that in the course of a few days, a team of five strangers could be assembled, birefed and penetrate a highly public event.
As a RWP (real world player) in this arena, it makes me a little nervous.
By the way, great wig!

I got my "What's Up Coachella" text message for the bands playing around 6:30 PM...
...at around 11:30 PM when we left the parking lot.
Cell phone reception at Coachella sucks, plain and simple. This operation wasn't the only one foiled by bad reception, I can tell you that.
Sorry I was there to throw even more confusion into the mix for a while, but it was awesome seeing you guys. Now to sleep for several hours...

bad reception I know I was grouchy and irritable from lack of sleep during this op.
Still, even with bad cell reception, I think that someone could have found a way to get a message to the retrievers. Maybe through the security guard standing by the car?
Even so, the PMs did a great job of dealing with unexpected things. And, the retrievers did a great job of trying to improvise. An operation at a huge public area has to be full of difficulties. So, we made a really great attempt at it.
I'm still wondering : what the diversion was about (the Morse Code message); what was Virgil's role supposed to be; where did Virgil's friend come from; when did the goons leave following Ian and go to Nisha; how did they know where she was (through Gunter?); how did they get into the party; why was the camera set up on the wrong car ; who is worry and what is their role; and, I am sure you guys have more to add.
Anyway, I am curious as to where we go from here. Ideas anyone?

Murphy's Law at it's finest.
Don't really know if I should use a smily or a frown for that one.

I, like Rose, am deeply, deeply curious about the things we didn't get to explore or investigate because of the confusion and pre-emptive mission abort.
Anyone who would like to discuss this very important topic over two rounds of drinks provided by Ariock and Ranger D -- okay, three rounds, I'll pick up the third -- should shoot me a PM.
I'll invite smg3er and Laura and Kiyash.
P.S. My speculation is that everything we were supposed to have been able to find out and explore this weekend will be pushed to the next event, so hopefully no real opportunities lost, except my opportunity to try to hit on Gunter. ::sigh::

They left him while he was in TX somewhere, according to that last phone call from the 29th(?).

[spec] probably. I think they're working with Gunter. Gunter obviously had a ton of knowledge about Nisha that he couldn't have gathered without more leads.[/spec]

Bought a ticket? The same way Nisha did.

From my understanding, there were at least two webcams set up, giving us a view of each car. There may have been more.

It's from Myke actually.

I just wanted to say thanks to the Coachella 5 for being our retrievers, and a special thanks to Diandra for staying up all night and being the ears and voice to the 5, for the rest of us in irc chat. And thanks to Rowan for staying in contact with cskane4life. You all did a great job.
I nominate Dia and Rowan as honorary Coachella Retrivers. You deserve packages too.

That definitely has me curious. We didn't run across a package. Was there one planted in the Audi we never managed to get in, perhaps?

how did they know where she was (through Gunter?);
At the moment Nisha thinks she and Ian are betrayed, she says something about being outwitted by Gunter; she obviously also has the same spec that the thugs are working with Gunter. This would make sense going along with the spec that the bug in Ian's car was planted by Gunter -- he sent the information along to the thugs so they could track it.

The one following Myke, perhaps? Maybe a creepy Myke video is forthcoming in Nisha's in-box.

I'm guessing (out of the possible specs) due to the deft maneuver with Trent the SD card is still in the car. Figure out which dealership or show it's going to, I suppose? Did the salesperson who called it "our car" have a name?

Unfortunately, he wasn't wearing a name tag, and I was a little flustered when I spoke to him. ... I think maybe he was hitting on me... And I"m not used to that.
