Aha - So you're right! - I see it now, and after fiddling with some photoshop settings, it looks like theres an 'A' under it to the right slightly... if I can get a definite image - i'll upload it

If you run a windows server, there are standard error pages that IIS uses. Unless you create your own. So, the 404 error that we get from perplexcityacademy.com is the standard IIS 404 error page. Firefox doesn't show that info because it is just server side info, not anything that defines the page

Why on earth would you call something that looks as though it goes along the top of all your pages something like transferring? Seems a daft name to me. It can't possibly be just for the top of what looks like a temporary page.

I ran the pic through stegdetect and came up negative. Guess we'll just have to wait

how kind of the guardian to host the pictures.
this is what bruce was talking about. lean back or look at it from far away, will be easier to read.

That thought crossed my mind too - it seems to be a general rule of thumb around these parts that if some text is a jpeg rather than normal text, there's a reason behind it.
I don't know though - maybe the PMs saw this thread earlier than they anticipated and decided to put up a temporary site while they got thier asses in gear over the main content. I mean, what, a couple of hours between the Firebox discovery posted and the site going up seems a bit of a coincidence to me

I'd say this all means that the page will be coming, but it hasn't been fully transferred from ppc yet. Presumably, it will be changed when the functional version of the site goes live.

Yeah, it would make sense if they are transferring content from PerplexCity down to us. Could take a little time.

WOOHOO! Action!!!!!
Ahem. Anyway... It's nice to see things really rolling.
A few observations: While the puzzle cards look very nice, the way some of them just look like mazes or image puzzles suggests they might not be absolutely vital to the game, more of a fun collection of puzzles from the puzzle-lovers at PPC to more puzzle-lovers over here.
As for the acadamy site, I would expect it would be up sometime today or tomorrow. I agree that 'transferring' is the term they're using to suggest setting the site up to work on our internet interface.
Hopefully we wont need special Acadamy Keys to access most of the site

Let your eyes go out of focus and you can see images like the one above and the writing on the soulwax album cover more easily (well, I can anyway). Didn't have any real difficulty reading either image by doing this, though perhaps it's like trying to see those magic eye pictures (which, incidentally, I never got the hang of properly - they always used to be inside out for me....).
EDIT: just noticed that the academy logo is in the root of the directory. As far as I can remember, all other images have been placed in a directory called 'images', so I'll second the suggestion that this is only temporary.
