Correspondence with Firebox on the new catalog turned up:
1) they do not send catalogs internationally (too bad for us yankees)
2) PXC cards will be on sale soon...
I surmise that MC didn't quite plan for this to come out yet, and posted the Transferring page as a filler. More hurry up and wait stuff.

I set up a script on my computer to check if there's been an update or not every 30 seconds, so I hope I'll be the very first one to tell you the news.

The top right image on http://www.perplexcity.com/indexB.html is the same address as the perplexcity academy.
Told you it's nothing... but hey....

Had a quick look through and I didn't see any mention of it, so a little speccing.
There's a photograph on the firebox pic with the wanted poster, maybe hunting down that location will gleam us a few more clues than we just get from the pic? Any clues on where it is? Is it more than just convenience of space usage that right above the ppc stuff there's a few sample postcards of actual places - two maps and an aerial picture. Anything to do with the location of the wanted picture? Maybe. I believe they're London based...

There's far too little information to go on in that picture to work out a location, i would say (although i'm happy to be proved wrong). The only even slightly distinguishing features are the box junction lines and the red and blue brickwork on the wall behind the van, but apart from that there isn't really anything to go on.
tbh I wouldn't be surprised if posters like this start appearing all over the place in the next few weeks, in the same way the postcards did.

Just a quick spec here
Maybe the firebox catalog went out early by accident (happened to a Harry Potter book...) so they werent expecting us to be visiting the site, and hence why a quick replacement was created.
If anyone else got the catalog it might just shoot a hole in my theory though

I wish we could get the Firebox catalog in the states. There isn't anything interesting on the website, is there?

Every 30 seconds? Isn't that a bit excessive? Software that does similar stuff to news sites (RSS readers) typically check every 30-60 minutes. I know we are all pretty excited about this stuff, but let's not cause accidental denial-of-service attacks on websites.
