Brooklyn is callin out to you - i got a freeklin parcel!

i live in brooklyn, ny so i guess i must be one of the first to get a package stateside. My Number and code at the bottom of my letter was 95 = S.
I got my email with the puzzle at 10:29, and submitted at 11:58 or something. Not so impressive but it used to take me the whole day to get 2 out of 3 jumbles, and forget about the final one to figure out what was happening in the stupid picture.

Not much new to add, except that as a graphic/web designer myself, all the materials and visual branding that has gone in to this is beautiful. whipsmartice is some pretty decent flash development as well. But, it seems that all the corporate sponsorship which is assumed to be behind all this (and rightfully so, where else would they get the 200 grand?), would be able to foot the bill for the printing of a series of cards and these websites (which, with the exception of whipsmartice have been pretty lame, I mean the sentinel might as well be somebody's elementary school home page). So on the prospect of having to buy cards to fully participate (meaning - have a chance to win some cash), I'm pretty down on the notion, assuming that at the end of this, everything associated with the game is going to be used to sell some piece of crap anyway.
my 2 cents. - mason

I've just had a nasty thought:

What if the cards you buy have a unique code (maybe under a scratch panel). When you enter the solution, you also have to enter this code to prove you bought the card. If the code/solution is correct, you get the points and no-one else would be able to use that combination.

I'm sure they wouldn't be that cruel, would they?

I wondered about that, but it depends how important points are. Hopefully we'll only really need the solves and clues.

surely then though we could register our name on the leaderboard as UF, give everyone the login for it and do it that way?

Me happy! Laughing I got a parcel - just discovered it resting peacefully in the mailbox when I got home from the clubs. Nice end to a good evening out.

is the 100K for the one who finds the cube a real prize or just another part of the game?

It seems to be real and most people belive it will be awarded but your guess is as good as anyone else's as to if a prize really will be award to the cube finder.

Glad to hear that 11:58 was a parcel time-- means one's on its way. Then again given my post office in Harlem, god only knows when I'll get it-- possibly next April? Smile

To add my 2c (2p for all you Brits Smile ), ok so we're going to have to buy some cards. Fine. Honestly, I envision it being a game and competition of sorts, but still with some massive puzzle at the end that is going to take some serious mind bending to figure out. I envision the Leaderboard thing being an interesting "worthiness" test, but nothing more. If it becomes too hyper-competitve, I'll be out.. not what I signed on for-- but if its fun, why the hell not? Seriously, I envision the last puzzle being something so hard and random, and PitA, that it makes others seem trivial at best (think that damn marble puzzle at the end of Riven back in the day... and muliply it by that god forsaken postcard number= e * avagadro's #... and side note, may that number forever RIP)

for those that have played before...

if anyone has done these ARG things before were there real prizes? i enjoy just doing them for fun and i definitely wont be buying more cards and what not...theres a chance i may get a package based on the times I've heard so if i do i'll probably give mine up to someone that might actually use it...but if anyone can answer my question at the top here about real prizes in pats games that would be great...thanks!

With the current price of the dollar it's a little over 1p Smile

I think you'll find someone already said too much. You don't need to advertise cryptically here.
