So now we know what all the crab headlines were about. There is such a huge level of planning in this game, those small irrevevant details that we laughed off before, actually have some background attached to it.

I just found you guys and this is my first post here. iWhile reading the Academy's page I found a quote about their research on Earth that siad it was being funded by the "Centre for Reality Research" http://www.perplexcityacademy.com/news.html

Based on this, and pictures of the city from the packages, I'm thinking that Perplex City is not on another planet, but is a completely digital world, that only exists inside a computer... or something like that. I don't recall them ever saying they were on another planet, I'm pretty sure they've only used the word "world". There was also talk of the video about our worlds sharing common history. Maybe PC exists on earth, inside a computer (PC would then be a really abd pun by the way)!

Or maybe I've been watching the Matrix too much.

We're pretty sure they're in an alternate reality/parrallel universe style affair. The matching of our cultures and the age of their history pretty much negates the idea that PPC is contained in a PC somewhere as some kind of virtual reality.

Yes, I think you probably have Wink

Just kidding, it's always good to voice ideas, whatever they may be. To quote (badly) "If we eliminate all other possibilities, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth". Meaning, think of everything so you may disprove it.

My interpretation of "Centre for Reality Research" is that is would more specifically mean "Centre for Research of the Nature of Reality". Investigating another planet or dimension (Dimension being more likely in this case) would be the perfect way to understand the nature of reality, I believe.

I found something interesting, to me at least.

I've not read through the entire site, just browsed mainly and read a couple of articles, but I've noticed a couple of possibly intentional surplus letters:

v - Student Life, 5th paragraph, 1st line, 1st word
o - Perplex City History, 1st paragraph, 3rd line, 7th word.

The o, added before BC, seems out of place but might be explained as a qualifier of BC, though I can't imagine what it would mean.

That's all I've noticed so far. I intend to look through the whole site and see what else there is there.

I also just found this in the about the cube page : "The Receda Cube is the jewel in the crown of the Museum's collection. It was discovered in the Catbite area in around 7AC, a period of some turmoil and confusion. "

It seems to discredit the theory that BC & AC are before cube and after cube.

not necessarily - isn't the agreed date of Christs birth sometime around 7AD?

[Edit: oops, that should be BC, not AD, and the date seems to vary between 4 - 7BC]

Re: Perplex City being a digital world...

And trout me if you must, I don't have the energy to read everything on here...

There is some interesting supporting information for this theory. Have we seen actual photographs of anything or anyone since the www.perplexcity.com video that kicked the game off? And what is up with all of the images of the city looking like Sim City 2000? It is just really odd, is all. Okay, back to work!

Yeah I definitely spotted a few of those extra letters. I assumed they were probably typos (what can I say? I'm new to this), but now you mention it I guess it's worth a closer look... I'll go back and try to find them again.

As for the whole Matrix analogy, gotta admit it had crossed my mind too. Time will tell.

Might be a trout, though I searched and found nothing...

On Studentlife, in the section about the Treasure Hunt Week - there is some form of spelling mistake.

"Treasure Hunt Week is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year, but it's also one of the most exhausting, sometimes running for up to And the prize awarded to the winning team?"

Notice how the first sentence finish mid-sentence and the next one just continues?

Might just be a spelling error though...

I have a question and can't think of a better place to post it.

The "About the Cube" section on the Academy website is the most information we've seen this entire time about what the cube is, what it looks like, and what it does. But from this description it's like they don't even know what it does, or what it does isn't important enough to put on their website.

Okay, but the Academy REALLY wants it back. And it's a HUGE deal because the media is riding Sente and generally making it look like the return of the cube is a vital national interest.

So what the hell does it do, and why is it important?

Sente is enlisting our help to recover an object of unexplained significance. Is that not crazy to anyone else? Am I missing something?

a week??!! Just a guess, like!

Interesting though, that's basically what Sente has set up for us and who knows how long it'll last.

Btw Kastanok,

o - Perplex City History, 1st paragraph, 3rd line, 7th word.

This is just a 0 (zero) as in the year 0. Looks like a small o because of the typeface. See further down the article.
