I whole-heartedly agree!

Also, what about "moderated a game" and "create supporting documentation for an ARG" (like a guide/trail/update blog/maintained wiki/etc)? Those would be helpful too.

a tip: if you edit your profile, remove any instances of your last name in the name field. Otherwise you'll end up with multiple last names.

if anyone knows how to edit the password to something one could actually remember, please share! a few of us in IRC would love to know Smile

I figured it out, just literally change it in the "edit profile" > "update basic information" menu. The next time you log in, use the new password.

Yeah I did that pin point thing. Did that thing piss anyone rlse off? Told me I should be a player not a contestent. It didn't make any sence really. I mean why so many questions about extream sports? And where were all the other ARGs? Where was Noah Boddy? Where was Lockjaw? Where was Push NV?

Where did it tell you that you should be a player and not a contestant?

It made my fill out this thing where I had to list my intrest, skills, quallitys and arg experance. From what I understood it genorated this pie chart looking thing with 4 diffrent types of pins. green ment artical (got a few) red ment contestant (got a few more) yellow ment player (got a lot) and grey ment self... what ever that means I just got one. Wha I the only one who did this?

The circle/pin thing is actually showing how close you are to other players/contestants/whatevers in terms of Personality, ARG Experience, Interests and Skills - mouse over the circle segments to see which one is which. The grey self pin is you. The red pins are players. And so on. And you can then mouse over the pins to see who they are. It's to show you who you might be most compatible with, in ARG teams and so on, I guess.

It's not telling you you should be a player rather than a contestant - you can change that yourself in your profile, player just seems to be the default option.

So no need to get pissed off I'd think Smile (Though I was also slightly confused by the several mentions of Extreme Sports, other seemingly random interests, and the lack of some ARGs Smile)

extreme sports

Anyone else willing to spec that the PMs in this project may be asked to do physical challenges a la other reality shows like " The Amazing Race"?

I can see it now, Jim Gunshanan, Haxan Mike and FLMutant lost in Costa Rica have to hang glide through a hurricane to safety.

Jane McG, Elan Lee (don't remember his forum nickname) and Sean Stewart, whisked unexpectedly into a former Soviet republic, compete in BMX Vert (Half-pipe), Dirt and Street games for the highest air.

Three of the four Project UM PMs, [ xnbomb, sassypants Giskard, wishi and yanka] --chosen through a contentious game of "rock, paper, scissors" -- placed at different entrances to the same cave in Alabama, have to spelunk their way to each other and find their way back out by scuba diving down through an underwater entrance.

Well then... loooks like I'm an idiot. But I'm still gonna be pissed off for no reason. Reality show people seem to like that.

Well in any case lets makes some teams and post'em this way the teams that don't get picked... SCREW PROJECT GAMELIGHT! WE WILL HAVE OUR OWN GAME!

That is just if they don't pick me. Cause if they do pick me well then I love Project gamelight. I'm still for sale by the way.

Yeah, and then they find out it's really NOT a game and the winning team wins NOTHING but a trip to the hospital after suffering hypothermia in a horrible spelunking accident.

Hell, I know I'd watch that. Very Happy

Actually I'm now thinking maybe all the random niche interests are there for the sake of better placing people close to each other. After all, pretty much everyone can say they like things like movies, music, etc, so they're not that useful for this kind of algorithm. But if you can find two people that say 'Ooh I like Extreme Sports AND Radio Control' then they're more likely to be compatible.. or something. The only issue is that there isn't a wide enough choice of niche interests for most of us to be able to pick ones that would usefully place us.

(I have no idea if that last paragraph made any sense)
