4orty 2wo website

So I just noticed that 4orty2wo updated their website.

www.4orty2wo.com

No idea how new/old this is but I see a few familiar faces on the ilovebees page and there are one or two screen shots from the beast as well

microsoft

Funny, after looking at the website I realised that Microsoft was involved in, or the client for, all three of 4orty2wo's Case Studies - The Beast, ilovebees and MSN found. Somewhere I know people were saying that 4orty2wo might not want to do another project with Microsoft, or maybe not another Halo ARG. I suspect that they will be glad to keep their biggest client happy if asked. Microsoft obviously support Jordan Weisman and 42. Both 4orty2wo and Microsoft seem to benefit enormously from their collaborations. MSN Found, which we didn't follow here as it "wasn't an ARG", or because people didn't find it interesting, or maybe people just didnt like MSN Search, sounds like a huge success from a marketing point of view. I wouldn't rule out any future Microsoft/42 games. One can but hope.

You need to read more carefully.

I'm not ruling out another Microsoft/42 collaboration -- in fact, I expect that there will be more than one -- but I'm saying it won't be ILB2. I'd be surprised if there were a Halo 3 ARG done by 4orty2wo, but I'm willing to bet there will be no ILB2. And if there is an ILB2, I'm 99% sure it wouldn't be done by 4orty2wo.

microsoft

I wasn't responding to any particular person, I don't read posts here as being a one to one conversation. I just recalled that someone had mentioned something about Microsoft--the sponsor of these genre creating and changing free games and, in a tenous way, our benefactor-- not being innovative.

Like most things I post, the one immediately above had an unspoken subtext, which I will now make clear: I don't think 4orty2wo, or any commercial enterprise, appreciates inaccurate, one-sided comments about their biggest clients. I was trying to simply trying to balance that out a bit.

Again, I am not addressing, attacking or criticising any specific person, their comments or their attitude.

Which "inaccurate, one-sided comments," precisely?

In any of the threads, I'm failing to find any "inaccurate, one-sided" comments.

Unless you think opinions like, "yes they will do one/no they won't do one" can somehow be "inaccurate" and "one-sided."

At this stage of the game, however, considering that it hasn't happened yet, it's impossible for such speculation to be "inaccurate."

Easy ladies.

I'm pretty sure we can all agree that 42 and Microsith have an association that has worked out historically in the past for both parties.
It would be very profitable for Microsoft to continue to "push the envelope" on viral marketing with 42, and obviously for 42 to keep working on high profile campaigns with/for Microsoft.

No one has yet posted any declarative comments about 42 and Microsoft going their respective paths, however some people have posted their own opinions and thoughts on just that occurring.

For the time being however, they seem to be too perfect a match
Creative and innovative marketing team + Financial/Media Monster with nearly unlimited resources and marketing requirements.
