Dread Central Pictures

Hi,

I've had a play with the Dread Centralpictures of the Necromancer, and frankly it's made them all the more disturbing.

Unholy1

Unholy2

Unholy3

When the pictures are made lighter you can clearly see two men, one perhaps being tortured? And the Nazi uniform becomes much clearer too.
The third picture is still a little difficult to make out, but if you look there is a man's face turned to the side in the foreground, and another man
standing behind him. Creepy.

Edited to add - Not sure if those links are working, my computer's being weird. I've also put them here, along with thumbnails, which for some of them actually makes the image clearer.

Picture 1 and 3 are working... but no problem, you can see the second one, when you follow the link

Really Creepy... It looks like an experiment on the brain of the man... maybe it's about mind control?! The second one... yes, you can see the nazi uniform. There is something in front of him - but what? Looks like a bag - but maybe it's nothing really important. I'm trying to google a bit about information, maybe we can find out who the man is...

If the bald man is the Necromancer, I believe it is Lester Kraus. Joseph McKenna, the actor listed as Lester at imdb.com is also bald. You can see a clearer image of him here.

Because the photos are purported to be from WWII, I don't think the man being tortured will be a character in the film. The question I have - are these stills from the film, or are they photos that were taken solely for the ARG to flesh out the Downingtown legend?

And who is the Holocaust survivor living in Pennsylvania? Is that a reference to Gertrude? That would be my guess.

I've played a bit more with the links and think that the second one is working properly now.

In the second picture I think that what is infront of the nazi is a man, with his head turned to one side, and some sort of injury/marking on his shoulder. It also looks like there is something on his head, with some sort of symbol on it.

Hmm, the walls of the first picture, when you lighten it, make it look like the inside of a train tunnel. The same for the second.

Tilting the second image 90 degrees, I can see the man is holding someone elses head. The guy he's holding seems to be unconcious, and appears to have huge scars on the front of his chest and right sholder in a shape that looks like clawmarks. He is also wearing a hat with a badge of some sort.

The bald man, (Kraus?) is wearing a sort of butcher apron, and has his left hand under the mans chin, and the other behind his head. Kraus has a moustash and beard, seems to be blonde. I cannot tell if there is something in his right hand or not. He also seems to be wearing gloves.

In the first image, Kraus is wearing the same apron as in the second.

Still trying to fix up the last image, but so far it seems to be of a slightly overweight man (with hair) wearing a neck scarf with a brooch and looking at the camera. He has his right hand holding a jug, or a gourd type thing. In his left is an old fashioned pipe. It reminds me of a portrait that an English lord might hang of himself.
Wait, my bad. Third picture is of Kraus working on some man's head...

Hope this helps somewhat.

Those pictures are super creepy. Nice job trying to make the images clearer. I wonder if they are real pics. Maybe someone should email the guy who wrote the movie to see where he got them from?

I was going through the ARG Player Tutorial and something struck me - has anyone tried to desteg these photos? Maybe the reason why they are so grainy is because something is hidden inside?

so I was looking at Worldoyster's posts and she nominated someone else to be "the champion" weird.
Also I took the time to actually rewrite the letter/poster for the movie, just so I could keep reading it over and over to see if there is anything we missed. The only things really significant are the use of "W.A.A.R." techniques, the fact that whoever is doing the experiments their name ends in an "s" because it uses the possessive " ' " after the name (Strauss making him at least 80, 1945 = 20yr 2005 = 80yr). I think I'm just grabbing at straws.

Okay, well I thought I'd have a little look at these photos and see if I could find anything of interest...

If you look at the detailed file properties you can see that all the photos were taken on the 9th January 2005 with a Nikon E3200 and then edited with Adobe Photoshop 7.0.

Photo 3 was taken at 16:01 with F-Number F/2.8, Exposure Time 1/90 sec and ISO Speed ISO-200

Photo 1 was taken at 16:05 with F-Number F/2.9, Exposure Time 1/6 sec and ISO Speed ISO-62

Photo 2 was taken at 16:30 with F-Number F/2.8, Exposure Time 1/6 sec and ISO Speed ISO-157

Now I'm no photography expert so I'm afraid this is all numbers to me, but I thought someone out there might find it interesting! However, it is clear the photos were taken this year with a snazy digital camera so if they did come from a Holocaust survivor s/he was clearly having "fun" reinacting events in their basement!

I'm thinking now that these pictures are the only lead we have? So either there's something more hidden in them, as saturn_girl has suggested, or we just have to sit around and wait for something else to happen!
