I would suggest you or Ian check out Macungie, PA, ASAP.

Nice one Nivra! Ever since we saw the files on the first SD card, it seemed that the picture it painted of Gunter's family life didn't jibe with what we know of his other activities. Once Gunter left that message for Nisha, I'd been wondering if he kisses Denise and little Matthew with that mouth. Maybe he doesn't ... maybe he's got a whole other identity ... a part-time suburban dweller of Macungie, PA until he has to go on his 'business' trips. Denise probably thinks he's off selling widgets when he's actually stealing artwork in Europe. Maybe GMB is really Gerry McBride, frequenter of the local Irish pub Smile .

Looks like Nisha is going to Macungie, whether Ian likes it or not (he wants to send the "gamers" instead).

Well, if he wants to wait till the weekend, I can definitely go check things out. It's 3 hours away so it makes it a little difficult to check out during the week with that thing called work - but I can totally do a Saturday or Sunday thingy (even Friday as long as 9pm or so wasn't too late). I've emailed Nisha & Ian to let them know I'd be availble if need be.

/me keeps her fingers crossed

Nice work Nivra!
Should I topic change and move this to puzzles as solved?

It's a touch confusing, because there's some useful bits of interaction in the thread too. This sort of redefines the definition of "puzzle".

Looks like no weekend heisting for me Sad

Ms. Roberts,

A friend of mine, nivra, told me that you might be looking for information in Macungie, PA. Macungie is only about 3 hours from where I live, so while I can't go and check things out right away (without taking off work), going there over the weekend would be no problem at all. I wouldn't be offering my services if nivra hadn't convinced me that this might be of the utmost importance. Please let myself or nivra know if I can be of any help to you.

Sincerely,

Rowan Lambelle

Gunter's like a trapped ferret, you never know what they are going to do
when you back them into a corner.

Doesn't she know that all a ferret does in a corner is go to the bathroom?

edit Okay - since I just can't stand by while poor ferrets get a bad rap, I emailed her back.

Ms. Roberts,

Well, as an owner of ferrets, I can tell you that when you back them into a corner, they usually just go to the bathroom. Or beg for a treat. Maybe you mean another kinda of mustelid - like a mink or a wolverine or a fisher?

But I do understand your being reluctant to having any help. Still, the offer stands.

Rowan Lambelle

Luckily, she has taken back what she said.

Very Happy

I don't understand why Nisha thinks Gunter can help her. The VIN numbers were only recorded using his PDA and saved on the SD cards. If Gunter somehow remembers the numbers (which is unlikely) why wouldn't Gunter just contact the person all this information was for and tell them the VIN numbers of the remaining cars? That way the SD cards can be retrieved and the information is safe from prying eyes. It just doesn't quite gel for me.

I'm not sure why Gunter not remembering the numbers is unlikely, considering how fast he had to work in that video. I don't think he even had time to look at the VINs, he was just snapping shots.

I think I figured out a way for Ian to find the other cars. I emailed Ian and Nisha with the information, but have no idea if they will use it.

Here's what I figured out, this file is a schematic of the Emden Warehouse in Germany. Notice that Ian has circled 6 cars. Each of those cars has a Lot number assigned to them. Now take a look at the first shipping document notice the lot number appears on the first line(P.S.S. LOS#10). The Lot # for the car found in Pittsburgh was #11, which is one of the cars Ian circled. In fact I think this how Ian was able to find the VIN #and track the car he stole.

PS I forgot to add, all Ian has to do is hack the Earthcross database to locate the shipping info for the other cars.
