Which is reassuring, and will maybe encourage everyone to play this part collaboratively. And makes me much more likely to buy cards just for fun!

so cool. this seals the deal sports fans- our puzzle hunger shall soon be abated, then you can feast, later on gorge, and eventually swim in Trout puzzle-food-ocean, which reminds me a lot of Bang Head then at that point youll remember this point right now and go, wasn't sitting on my ass doing nothing but speccing in pregame so much better Wink

of course not! buy the cards! buy the sente dolls! buy them for me also!

cosume Very Happy

no swim with the fishes icon.. had to improvise

edit: 2am maybe i should lay of the sugary substances

Well. Alright then! Feeling much better now. Still a little crabby because no package has graced my step, even though I was in within 2 minutes of the answer site going live, (never did trust that mailman), but much better nonetheless.

Thanks, SpaceBass! Thanks Adrian!

And, my ghod! How many times will we think this game has started before this game starts?!

Woo.

This is a refreshing reminder to all the detractors(ers?) of Mind Candy Design and the people in Perplex City that the people putting this together are indeed smarter then they at first appear. I'm still betting on the May 12 official release date to correspond with the BBC thing... if the BBC thing is going off on May 12... I can't remember exactly and it IS finals week.

Thanks SpaceBass and A.Hon

i think the tag on this is innapropriate. as hon stayed ic (in character) for the whole thing, this is not meta, it is official media contact, and should be considered 100% ig.

/still about a 10% piece of me that wonders if this is real.

WOW! That cleared up pretty much every question I had. Excellent interview. Looks like this isn't going to be another CCG. I'n very glad that the cards aren't what lead us to the cube, because it would really make no sense that they knew where it was and were distributing puzzles so that we could find it. Makes much more sense that the cards just tell us about their culture and history, and we put the pieces together to figure out what happened. That interview single-handedly rejuvenated this game for me.

Thank you Spacebass!

Ditto everything that has been said on this topic so far (except for leakingpen's 10% doubt, that is - im 100% convinced that Adrian et al will be true to their word).

So roll on the official launch! Very Happy

Believe it or not, but the Group 333 launch was a preview for players, not our official launch. You didn't really think that was it, did you? Expect to be reading about Perplex City in all sorts of places that are totally unconnected to computer games…

No trout for you. Razz

BBC Thing

Aparently, and I'm not really sure, but aparently BBC will be running a little expose(sp?) on PXC.

Edit: Go to the bottom of the page for the date.

it'll be a 7 minute segment on the Culture Show, which is a magazine show on every thursday at 7 on bbc2.

for example, tonight's show had a segment about the success of the Tate Modern art gallery, one about an opera based on 1984 and one about the current craze of parenting TV shows... so it's unlikely to be an "expose", just a little article about the ARG phenomenon, prob using PXC as the main example.

from www.RadioTimes.com (the BBC's listings site):
Quote:
The Culture Show

7:00pm - 8:00pm

BBC2 London & South East

VIDEO Plus+: 4831
Subtitled, Widescreen

Mariella Frostrup presents the best arts and culture stories of the week from Glasgow. Crime writer Ed McBain talks about turning real life into fiction and his own battle with cancer. Plus the best of British sculpture on display in rural Sussex, and the mysterious new game that's got players around the world competing for clues.

It's possible the main launch will coincide with the broadcast, but not necessarily so- there's been a lot of media interest already, so this is nothing that different, except for the fact it's on TV..

I'd say it's more likely they'll leave the launch till the following weekend at the earliest- they'll want a co-ordinated campaign of magazine, newspaper and TV spots to gain the biggest reach.
