A newcomer's view

I want to start this post by saying this:

1)I know some of these things have been talked about before, I am just giving my opinion on the whole scene.

2)I know I'm somewhat of a newcomer, but I have done my research

3)I'm sure not everyone will agree with all my ideas, thats ok, I'm just here to give a different view.

Ok so here goes my rambling:

First off I want to say that some people are loosing sight of the whole point of Our Colony. It is a marketing campaign, it is supposed to get us talking, and its accomplished that. The marketing company has control over everything. No information is getting out there that shouldn't be. For example the current leaked photos from the set of MTV's show. These were released on purpose by Microsoft through some channel or another. Take for example the auto industry, photos will leak out of high security facilities, yet the companies never launch investigations, meaning they knew it would happen. So everyone just keep in mind, while we are discovering things everyday, we are meant to discover it, we are meant to talk about it, and we are meant to believe it. Like the reward picture that has the power buttons. People are now talking about changeable flaceplates, but also others are trying to find out if they are actually logos to developers that will realease games for the 360. Once again, people searching around and have more intrest in the system and also the games.

Secondly, no one need worry about the whole fiasco with the Wisdom Colony, Choosen Ones, Elders, what ever you want to call them. Once again, rember this is a marketing campaign. The posts were starting to lag a bit, when next thing you know there are rumors of a special colony. Convient wouldn't you say?

Thirdly, rember that just because someone says they are something doesnt mean that is what they are. I'm sure that all across the forums, there are people who are actually marketing agents from the agency posing as normal people.

Last thing, and something that I think is most important. There are little threads talking about this, but I think it really deserves some attention. The next step of the colony must have to do with the clock. There is one thing that has always stayed constant was the clock. Through rumors, speculation, and well placed posts, one thing is always constant, the clock. Even in the picture of the notepad it is mentioned.(By the way, that picture is meant to look like meeting minutes, but they aren't actual meeting minutes. A campaign this big, wouldn't actually have someone take minutes on a yellow legal pad, if anyhting it woudl be done on computer. Secondly, this whole thing is planned, no one who works at the marketing agency would accidently get left out of the loop, of the story line.) So to be honest people, I think instead of everyone taking their time to speculate about the Wisdom colony and bickering, they should look into the clock, and try to put true meaning to it.

Thanks for listening to all my thoughts guys.

Re: A newcomer's view

I think just about everyone here understands perfectly that this is a viral marketing campaign, so I really don't see the need for you to point out the extremely obvious to us...

This is technically not true either...it has been constant since it changed to be one hour earlier. Originally it was counting down to 9:30 pm EST.

And I think that is just the end of the current phase of the game...the unveiling of the Xbox 360. At that point, the game will probably move into a new phase working towards the November release. I think it is quite clear from THX's posts so far that OurColony does not end when the clock strikes 00:00:00...

And finally...

No, I wouldn't because "Convient" isn't a word... Wink
