E-mail from The Resistance

Some time after I signed up for the Pemesent newsletter I received a confirmation e-mail:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Your support is apprechated, could you please confirm by clicking the URL below.

xxxp://www.pemesent.com/lists/?p=confirm&uid=*[EDIT]*

If this is not correct, you do not need to do anything, simply delete this
message.

Thank you

After confirming I received this:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hello,

Firstly thankyou for joining us, as you should know times are hard for us and
security is tight. I will check your account to ensure you are not part in "the
project".

You will be called upon when the time is right, but for now continue to watch,
and remember the truth now has little value.

Regards

The Resistance

The e-mails originated from System <receptionSPLATpemesent.com>
EDIT: mails were sent by PHPlist (mailing list manager). The headers lead to a webhosting company.

Well, finally something happens.

I was about to ask where you signed up but just noticed it on the contacts page! Laughing I was beginning to worry that this was on hold for a while.

Ok I have had the same correspondence, I believe once they have enough people they will set up a secure login for us on the .php website.

The misspelled 'apprechated' is an anagram for 'HEED A PC TRAP'

Maybe we should proceed with caution Very Happy

hmmmm

There is no space between "thank" and "you" in this message. Sorta weird because if you were typing something to be forwarded to a mass amount of people you would check a thing like that.

Umm, maybe this is another British thing, but thankyou can be written as one word, so I wouldn't read anything into it...

No it can't! Type 'thankyou' into a spellchecker set to UK English and you will see that it is in fact 2 words.

However it is a common misconception that 'thank you' is one word, so I reckon it was Veo or the PMs making a simple mistake.

grammar Junk

I think this little conversation is probably giving labfly a heart attacking thinking he'll have to delve back into this grammar thing - not that I'm 100% convinced that there's nothing to it but finding out what's intentional and what's accidental would be enough to drive a sane man looney.

In any case. Thank you is two words when used as in "Thank you for your support" or just "Thank You." It's hyphenated when you use it as in "I just wanted to send you a quick thank-you for your support," but that's one of those fine points that nobody on the planet pays attention to. You'll find both used interchangably. I'd suspect that Veo didn't teach Zoe grammar very well or that there are gramar rule differences between dimensions.

it may be important to mention that the subject is d9h5qd5.tjo (for the J15SPLATpemesent.com email.)

Certainly seems like it could be a code.. possibly a URL addition

If needle and face refers to a compass, the d's and h might be degrees and hours. I mapped 9 degrees 5 hours N, 5 degrees E and ended up in Nigeria, near Ilorin. Dunno
