Wow this looks to be interesting. I wonder if I could handle PPC and this ARG. Well maybe I can tag along and watch. Smile I seem to be bad at these puzzle and de-coding stuff anyway. But you never know! Maybe my corrupt mind will come in handy.

Seems like all is not right with this 19 Century family. I also looked for a case with twins conjoined at the wrist, but really there wasn't anything. I think I'll look harder later.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've created a new channel on the chat-solutions.org IRC server for this. It's called #rookerytower .

I'm also working on getting a forum created for it so we don't have to continue posting in this "News & Rumors" thread.

Yes! A forum for this would be nice. Especially when it starts rolling along. It's just so much easier to go to a thread on a puzzle instead of having them all jumbled up in one... Thanks for the help.

New update On Blog

Quote:
09:10 am
Hello!

I'm sorry if I worried anyone by not posting anything yesterday. The truth is my computer wouldn't turn on. It just sat there. Mr. Morgan told me on the phone he thinks its because we caused some psychic disturbance the other night, by poking around. I'm not sure if I believe that though.

So what happened, is probably what you're wondering. Well, Violet came over, and then an hour later, around six o' clock Mr. Morgan got here. I expected him to have all kinds of equipment like you see in movies, but this is what he had on him: disposable camera, a tape recorder (it looked expensive!) and a little crystal on a chain that he explained later was a pendulum.

Mr. Morgan asked me a lot of the same questions that he did before on the phone. What's been happening, where, do you feel threatened, etcetera. Then he went around the house and stood in a bunch of different places and wherever his little pendulum would swing he'd take a picture. I think he had the voice recorder on the whole time.

The only thing that really happened though was when we got upstairs to the third floor hallway all the lights went off. His pendulum started swinging like crazy, and he took a couple of pictures even though the flash on his camera wasn't working either. I'll admit right then my friend and I were really scared.

Then we went outside and poked around in the woods behind Rookery Tower. Do you know what we found? A graveyard! Behind my house! Nothing spooky happened in it this time. But it did start raining on us and we had to go back inside before we could find the twins graves. Mr. Morgan thinks they're probably buried somewhere back there.

I fixed dinner, after showing Mr. Morgan the dishpan (the pendulum swung around when he came near the sink, but he didn't find anything specifically wrong with it) and then I fixed dinner. We had pasta, nothing special. Mr. Morgan drove home after that, I guess to check out his findings. I asked Violet to stay over though, and she agreed. We dragged another mattress into my room so we wouldn't have to sleep separately. The night was uneventful, thank god. No presence and no thumping! It was the best nights sleep I've had in days.

But in the morning Vi said that she really had to go, and of course I couldn't stop her, so now I'm all alone in the house again. And then I found out my computer wouldn't work, so I called Mr. Morgan and found out he was having the same problem. Every time he tried to boot up his PC it crashed. He says he went to the library and the computer crashed there when he tried to log on. But he also said that he's getting the film developed, and that he caught a couple of good EVPs. I haven't heard them yet. I'm not sure if I want to! EVPs just seem really spooky to me, because it makes you realize that there was something there and you didn't even know it!

I was so glad nothing happened yesterday, the dishpan even stayed in the sink all day that I know of! It was just so restful. I'm worried though today, the computer was on when I came downstairs and there was a new message. It said

SCHIST ET

It sounds like Latin to me. Does anyone know what that means in Latin?

I have to go shopping and to lunch with my mother today, but I'll make sure to answer everyone's email to me when I get home. Thank you so much for you email, it really encourages me. Also, I'm sure if Mr. Morgan isn't having problems with his computer, he'll put up some of his findings too.

Love

Layla

Also Morgan has some EVPS but they just link to Laylas blog

Ok well I tried to translate the numbers off /stitches as binary, but came up with nothing from the following
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
01001001100101010110101010110001011101100010000011101011001011

Or by swapping the 1's for 0's, 0's for 1's
10110110011010101001010101001110100010011101111100010100110100

Or by taking 0's as being unlit candles, and 1's as lit candles
00110001110001101001100011101110101101000110111011011010100010

Or by swapping the 1's for 0's and 0's for 1's
11001110001110010110011100010001010010111001000100100101011101

spoilerized so I didn't annoy people with the numbers Razz

If you take the binary from only the lit candles you get
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Yeah sorry that was just the collection of stuff we'd figured out on the irc channel, i think they've all been explained now anyway.

Everyone probably just got the email from James that says:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's come to my attention that the links to the EVPs on my page aren't working. I can't find the 2 others right now, but here's the first one. If you listen very carefully you can hear a young boys voice saying 'don't find him., right after I ask for the flashlight.' Try pumping up the volume.

This one happened when the lights went out on the 3rd floor.

I'll try to find the others ones for you.

J Morgan

But i'll post it anyway Razz

For the sake of documentation, here is the text from 4.htm which is creepy to say the least.
Quote:
I told them that I slipped on the knife. I didn't want Richard to get in trouble but I think they know anyway. He didn't mean it, I'm sure he was just goofing off. He said 'Lirchard rets pay plirates!' And then I was bleeding into the water. I didn't scream. It was Richard who got scared. Richard said, 'Mommy, Eric hut cimself!' That's how she knew he was lying I guess. Everybody hates when Richard talks like that. They say it's a speech impediment. I had to get ten stitches up my arm. Dad says it'll probably scar, but I think scars are cool. Mom threw the washbasin out.

I think this is important in the sense that it's probably the "entity".

Ten toy soldiers ten little men first sit up then down again good at points and good at math get all wrinkly in the bath

Combine this with the 4.htm text and we see that it's Richard that talks like that, so it's probably Richard that's screwing around with the web sites. What I don't get is why Richard would say, "Lirchard rets pay plirates!" (Richard let's play pirates!). That's a quote from Eric about what Richard said. Is that a screw-up, or is Richard talking to himself, or what? Maybe I'm still half-asleep...

I think that maybe they must both have access to the site, not all the site hacks have been in Richards funny language

Richard and a clue

JoeOE18 wrote:

That may be true, but I think the text below provides the best answer.

Quote:
Richard said, 'Mommy, Eric hut cimself!' That's how she knew he was lying I guess.

I can guess from that quote that when Richard speeks in a regular voice (without the "mistakes") that it means that he is lying. I think that is the most important part of that comment. Besides the link between the washpan and what is going on in the house.

Oh, and not that anyone, including myself, was expecting a REAL EVP, the one that we got is of someone (human and alive) wispering. You can tell from the MHz. But oh how nice it would have been.

EDIT: I have seen the light....
