OUR COLONY CLOCK!!!

Okay, were supposed to be watching the clock right? and i read in MANY places to make sure that my clock is right? So u make sure its right, i automatically synchronize with an internet time server, as per windows Date And Time Properties when it hits me. since the OC (Our Colony) clock goes by the time on out pc's (check for yourself) then what is the real countdown? rather WHEN does it really end?

Well with all this stuff about Chicago (ILLINOIS)... i wonder hey, im in ny here so there is a time difference. so do i set my pc clock by chicago time??? im really worried for some reason. WHAT IF in an instant, theres a flash of a password. and i miss it cause my pc time is wrong?

Those of you colonists around the world, will you (lord forbid) MISS THE TRUTH cause of this time difference? i need answeres ppl. cause according to my (NY) PC time, my OC clock says 0:21:40. but when i switch it to Chicago time!!! i have 0:17:40 4 hour difference. which will mean that at 8:30 PM NY time the countdown will end.

whats your take on this? what are we supposed to do? for those of you who want a refference link heres one. can anyone provide a better one?.
http://www.timetemperature.com/tzus/llinois_time_zone.shtml

my take is, to prevent this, i will set it to chicago time and wait for 2-3 hours ahead and after just to make sure. i hope this isnt a problem. should i (WE) set our clocks to chicago time? please post!

this has been said before. search? maybe? no? okay

the clock is javascript, its all right there to be looked at. It uses your computer clock to calculate how much time is left. It allready compensates for timezone as well.

well if you say so. i guess . maybe i didnt see any thread like this because IT WAS BURIED on page who knows where in the forum. if this is true you can soooo delete this thread PM's. seriously i would if i could. but when i set my time to chicago time i have 0:17:12 hours left makeing it 8:30 PM their time WHICH WOULD BE 4:30 pm ny time. but when i set it back to ny time i have 0:21:12 and that means the countdown will end at 8:30 PM ny time. whats wrong here?

time zone

You said that you set your computer's clock to Chicago time, but did you also change your TIME ZONE? That makes a difference.

the clock is scripted to look at your time, for your area code, and calculate the countdown based on milliseconds.
Set your time perfectly right, and the clock will be true.
yes it is an hour off. we all know that allready to.

Has anyone tried setting your clock to the time when the countdown is supposed to end then? Just a thought... I've done that to spoof programs before, so if this runs by the computer clock...?

Hmmmkay... just checked it. It didn't do anything as far as I can tell... the countdown timer *does* read 0:00, but it does nothing to anything else.

I didn't think the timer itself has any meaning or hidden functions (you can check this in the javascript-code). it's probably just to indicate WHEN something else triggered from outside will happen.

Something tells me that car *MIGHT* be a render from PGR3? I'm probably wrong, but it looks just a *BIT* off to me (slightly rendered)

now that i look at it i can see what you mean, doesnt look exactly real, theres no sky colour either.

The second maybe some sort of lizard. (though i of course doubt it, turok comes to mind, cant be a reptile cause you can see the black thing twice its reflected from what it looks like)

Hmm so maybe there not just random images. the car is gamem8ker.jpg

strange.

Hmm. Are you guys sure about this? The countdown still has 15 hours and 41 minutes, and I'm on "Chicago" time.

Some guy said that his clock reads 0:00. That's what I was referring to.
