Um. Is there any specific reason you decided to exclude, for example, Australia? And all the other places where people live on this planet? And will Canadians have to choose "US" ?

Oh dear, I guess this is why this thread was such a good idea. We shall educate you, fear not. We learnt about old money (that we abolished in 1971) at school as a test for our times tables. 12 old pennies make a shilling, 20 shillings make a pound. Simple. For all the details, as usual Wikipedia has the answer.
Generally speaking, we're trying to be metric. There was uproar when it became illegal to use pounds and ounces when selling food a while back, we still use miles for distance but at school they never taught us what a yard was. It was all very confusing.
EDIT: Brat, you forgot the £2 coin. That's a good coin, two colours!

well im an aussie in france
so ive got aussie dollars and euro dollars lying around (and ive gotta say, aussie dollars r by far the best designed coins... theyre so easy to tell apart -- especially important while half-drunk in a dark pub )
and euro.s ingenuously have E500 notes, which no-one round here accepts (even most banks!) cos theyre absurdly large and too easy to forge... (half the shopkeepers don't even like taking E50 notes, they stop and stare and stroke them and hold them up to the light first!)
and australia sensibly got rid of 1c and 2c coins, they were too small and didn't get used (until u got a pile of them and went to the lolly store and returned with one little chocolate frog if u were lucky)

There's no such thing as Euro Dollars, they are just called "Euros" and there are 100 Cent(No s) in a Euro. Also slang for the Euro where I am is "YoYo". So people, what is the slang for your local currency.

In the UK, pound could also be a quid, £5 notes are known as fivers and £10 notes as tenners.

Brat: Same here in Ireland, 5 quid, fivers tenners. And every so often people slip back to calling stuff pounds and p's.

What happened to the Asian players? Considering the put an advert, in the South China Morning Post, I'd expect maybe someone over there might be playing. Haven't seen any discussion from there, though.
Edit: Just looked at the poll results and saw 1 person. Better than nothing, I suppose.

I'm in the US. Slang for our money? dollars are bucks... sometimes semolians (though that's kinda jokey and outdated) money in general sometimes called "green backs" (because they have them). Then, sometimes by the name of the person on the bill (benjamins for ben franklin on the $100 dollar bill, etc. - usually in gansta-talk... seems kinda over the top to me). Hmmm.. I'd expect I'm missing something obvious... and I know I must be missing some hip new term. But that's what comes to mind, anyway.
