What an absolutely amazing weekend this was. It was exactly what I needed and, as I've told a few of you, it completely rejuvenated me. Everyone is just so amazing and fun. I'm so very shy upon first meetings, especially large groups, but you guys are all so great that it was relatively easy to get beyond that pretty quickly.

My memorable moments (outside the one or ten or a hundred that I'm forgetting)

- Driving over the GW Bridge when first entering the city...the anxious mix of emotions building after the long (but gorgeous!) drive. I am so not good with meeting people for the first time!

- Turning the corner in the hallway to meet Krystyn! Over the past four years, two games, and other random projects, I've spent more time with her than some of my closest off-line friends... it was about time that we met!

- Standing outside of the little restaurant on Friday... watching a couple walk in hoping to get a table. Moments later, they exit out the door with absolutely terrified looks on their faces. (we scare New Yorkers... we rock!)

- Meeting DonkeyOatey at the hotel bar on Friday night. I was so anxious and hopeful that he would show but so convinced that he wouldn't. Running into the bar, quite late, and quickly scanning it, positive that if he'd show, I had missed him. As I confirmed that he'd not been there, I heading to the bar to get a drink. Then, not even 5 minutes after I walked in, he was standing in front of me! Meeting him absolutely made my weekend Smile (now if he'd just return to the scene a bit more often!)

- Rolling over on Saturday morning, looking at the clock, and simultaneously praising Joe for letting us sleep in and cursing him for letting us sleep in. Getting to the hotel around 11:00 and seeing Joe laying on the floor attempting to get some sleep. Poor guy couldn't have had more than 2 hours, so I quickly removed any previous curses and began thanking him profusely for those two extra hours of beauty sleep - Krystyn so does not need it but I most certainly do! (so sorry that I missed the Mind Candy presentation! so happy to see it's online!)

- Nagging Krystyn, Steve, and Space about our topic for the presentation "guys, we really should have some idea!" only to be told over and over again that we work best on our feet and that I shouldn't worry. I admit it, I worried. I shouldn't have. After how ever many years and projects we've worked on together, I should be used to this. It's so cool that it happens in real life just as it does online Smile

- Sitting in the basement of the pizza place and watching that, as we filled the room, the laughter and joy overtook any weariness. No matter how tiring and frustrating things get, hanging out with the crowd from UF makes it all worth it!

- Taking over the bar on Saturday night and... missing omnie Sad but meeting so many other cool people!

- Realizing that it is, indeed, light out over the city around 5 am (give or take a few)

- Korean bbq... mmmm

- Sitting back on Sunday night, absolutely EXHAUSTED, watching/listening in on the conversation as it bounced back and forth through Metacortechs, Unfiction, and ARGs in general... the energy in the air was overwhelming.

- Driving over the GW Bridge as I was leaving the city... the sad realization that it was all over and that it will be another year before I see you all again. I am so much looking forward to the next one!

HUGE HUGE HUGE thanks to Rose, Bags, Joe, and Dia for making this all happen. You guys are absolutely amazing!

next one

Note to planners of next one:

With this lot what you think is a weekend meeting-- running from Friday dinner to Sunday brunch-- will turn into a 5 or 6 day party. Can't be helped so go with it!

By the way - I am meeting up with Chippy - our remaining man of ARGFest in a couple of hours. We are going to the Met Museum of Art again- so I do get a couple of trips there as part of ARGFest

And soon we will have a planners party - we just have to plan it.!!!

Buy T-shirts: we have to order some more XL and XXL but want to sell some of the other we have first. I think we are still trying to cover the cost to print them which bagsbee paid.

I heart you guys. Very Happy

I'd like to uh...you know...identify myself?

Standing next to Jane. Katie, or drendar. Whichever you prefer. =)

My dad was around this past weekend, so I was only able to come to a few talks. But he's definitely more interested in ARGs now!

I'm assuming from the "Katie" that you're the girl between wraith and jamesi. Please let me know if I labeled it incorrectly.

Heh... Kwak rocks! I talked to Joe on IRC the other night (I think it was saturday between the festquest and late night drinks?) and explained why it is named just that... pretty cool that you can get it in NYC, complete with its own classic tall glass Smile

So that is the infamous Lou Salute!

But how did he get the "Pimp Daddy" description? Must have hacked something to avoid the Greenhorn tag. Way Cool!

Which reminds me, I got two more calls to my cell that night, and because they were at, like, 4am and my cellphone was on silent mode, I ended up with two more pretty voicemails from yanka and Joe, which I have uploaded due to popular demand Wink

2) I was NOT drunk, I just like dancing. Cool

Kona, please allow me to congratulate you for carrying on the fine, well-established tradition of "ARGfest drunken (or not) table dancing" from, ahem, years past. Good to know that, no matter what city we may be assembling in or who's there, SOME things can always stay the same!!!

It's like watching Chariots of Fire, and he's passing her the baton.

I'm ferklempt.

Couple days behind, but I wanted to add my 2 cents!

To the organizers: Thank you, thank you, thank you! It was a totally awesome weekend!

Some highlights:
- Getting over 3/4 of the way across the Brooklyn Bridge only to turn back around. Oops.

- Talking to Kristen during FestQuest. Melissa is scary, but at least the SP is cute!

- Where's Kona?!

- Papaya bubble tea, mmmm

- Eating real bagels in Central Park

- NY pizza. Aw yeah.

- Having two awesome roommates (hi varin and celina!)

- Getting to meet everyone!

ARGfest 2006 -- I shall be there. Very Happy

Firstly, a big thanks to all the organisers for doing a grand job and making the city proud. and thanks to the people on the panel, those who worked on the quest, who made posters, m&ms, puzzles, cards and stickers and everyone/thing else!
And special thanks to rose, who has been great during my stay...(im still in nyc)

Best bits:
Meeting everyone - putting names to faces, then getting them promptly all mixed up Smile

Finding out that the DJ was actually Will Star - i had a real life asplosion!

Seeing the $400 bar tab from CE's table Shocked

Great chats outside the bars, smoking a fag (bad bit - throat is now dead, must. stop. smoking)

SWEET MEATS!

Drinking j5s gin -
xnbomb and Lou cracking me up

yes, Curtis is a legend - he was on team Red (GO TEAM), and kept on shouting "here lizard, lizard!" had us in stiches Smile Hope he and greywolf had a blast on letterman?

the weather - if it was like today, i would have died if i had walked over the Brooklyn bridge (did i mention i walked over it... meh)

ive some photos here http://www.flickr.com/photos/chippee but the camera phone ran out of batteries on the day.

OMG i was really suffering on sunday so like totally had to crash, but it was nice later on in the Stout bar - had some really interesting conversations.

The steak in the market cafe! /me drools

im leaving ny on saturday, still plenty to see and do, having a great tmie here -but if anyone wants to meet up, pm me Smile

Hey yeah, thanks! Sorry, I was standing next to Jane but we had some extra room so one of the guys squeezed in. Yay! I have an identity now! =)
