Cool so now I just gotta wait 19 hours 23 mins.... Very Happy before I can try again!

I hope that when these cards are re-released in the 3rd wave the typos are fixed. Although saying that because these are limited edition (of thousands!!!) it may be worth somat one day because its printed wrong...

Woo! Congrats Juxta. This card has been the bane of my existance, but now I am free from its evil grasp.

<moan>Why did MC tell me "There's a simpler description of this one than the one you've supplied" when it seems K-1 The Arena Fighters was completely incorrect!</moan>

Oh well, at least it is solved now...

Because they enjoy torturing you???? Very Happy

Maybe they didnt even realise the code was printed wrong? And assumed that K-1 arena fighters used the real code?

Apolgies for listing the wrong solve - that was not intentional Embarassed

I had it recorded wrongly in my records (had not filled in final solve on my spreadsheet so what you got was my last incorrect one...).

I concur my coffee hasn't tasted so good in a while after this solve. But sadly a sense of loss has swept me what other card do I need to harrass me. Ah yes shuffled

Thanks so much, HG and Juxta!!! Very Happy

It sure would have been nice to have known that they wanted the *code* name instead of the *game*, as the card asks, since someone first mentioned *Contra Code* way back in May!!! Surely, someone from MC monitors this forum, and could have stepped up and corrected that error here, even anonymously! With *2* major screw-ups on one card, we would have *never* gotten this one right on our own! I sure hope this doesn't happen again, because I'll be suspicious of other cards now, which is very discouraging! ARRRGH! I feel like I've been hit by a Mack truck! [/rant]
... the adrenaline rush is wearing off now and I need a nap! Confused

Oh at last! Thanks guys.
At least the answer page is a bit better now. Hopefully the fact that the second wave has been delayed means that MC are 'de-bugging' the cards.

Ditto, now when i get back to uni (and my PPC cards) I can actually enter the solve, this took a LONG time to solve. But I suppose we have to accept the mistakes because this is a pre-release wave (on in other words, a beta test) of the cards.

Oh thanks *so* much for ridding me of this albatross!

BTW, I think they have continued to make the answer form more lenient -- a number of people said they got incorrect when entering HG's solve, but it worked just fine for me today --

Wow. Here I was hung up on Doom (thought it was Doom 3). Wikipedia takes one straight away to Contra Code, btw. . .first one I got, in fact. . .so long as you read past the bit about it being for Gradius originally.

Thanks for the solve!

SOMETHING HIDDEN

Hiya, sorry if someones already mentioned this but it looks like the is something hidden on the card. If you look at the word origin and poke, parts of the words are grey as if there is something underneath black. I've checked other cards and its not the norm.
Saying that i've just looked at card #113 and it has the same hidden marks, grey in the upper right and somthing at the lower right, card #139 also has them but they are visible... maybe like with the map if you join certain cards together another message is formed. But the question is how do we read whats hidden?
Sorry just thinking out loud now.

I've listed below all the cards i've found with these hidden/not so hidden grey marks:
#017 (lower left)
#019 (upper and lower right)
#047 (upper and lower right)
#079 (upper and lower right)
#083 (lower left and right)
#113 (upper and lower right)
#139 (upper and lower left)
#181 (upper and lower left & upper right)

this is curious Confused

Um....

This has been mentioned...several times before. I appreciate you're new to the boards, but there is a search facility in the top right of the page and the suggestion that new players use it in the top left.

Here is a relatively recent topic speculating on what these shaded areas might mean.

Although I don't think Wave 2 are on there yet, there is a page here on the excellent card catalog page.

Finally, to catch up on everything (just about) that has been said before, head over to the Wiki and have a look around. (Link is to puzzle cards section)

Thanks!

WB (feeling like I'm being wound up on a Sunday morning)

EDIT: Mended broken link (like I said, it is a Sunday morning)
