KJIC

On the Virgil King Of Codes site there is a gameography and a game called unfinished http://www.virgilkingofcode.com/game2004.html in which there is a screen in which you can imput letters since the photo with the note orignated at E3, as did the card, and the photo was provided by mindcandy. Is there a link here. So far I have tried placing the letters KJIC into the slots at the bottom of the page, to no avail.

I don't think this will work because Virgil's site is part of the Art of the Heist game sponsored by Audi. I think their being at E3 and "colliding" with MindCandy and PerplexCity was kind of a cool coincidence. However, they are very separate games. Smile

It could in theory, but it is very unlikely. Most ARGs don't have a place to enter a code, even if they did, they wouldn't be a cheat, as ARGs are not games as such (as in you can't get 10 lives or whatever)

Was brainstorming instead of working today...and came up with these thoughts.

Is there any possible way that KJIC could stand for something in a different langauge, like Japanese? (building on the kick/jump/etc idea)

Or, even though I think it's highly improbable, could KJIC be ROT-15 or ROT-17 for ZYAR or BAZL respectively? (You know, Caesar shifting.)

Maybe for N64, since it had the z trigger button?

But I question myself because none other of the codes were encrypted like that or anything. Hrm.

Anyone noticed the slight colour change of the writing? In #10, the 'POK' of 'POKE' is fainter/greyer than the rest, and in #9 'Origin' is fainter apart from the very top of the 'O' and the dots for the 'i's.

I think we can assume this is not a printing inconsistency.

Could this be some of that fabled super tiny text? Can someone with this card look at it under a really powerful magnifying glass or a microscope?

Tried a reasonable magnifying glass - the paler letters are made up of dots, rather than the solid white of the others. From what I could see, there wasn't any lettering, though possibly higher magnification would be needed.

Also tried cooling/freezing, and cooking up to 220 degrees C. Nothing popped up.

Can anyone who's experimented tell me the safest maximum temperature for the cards? And how long should they cook? Very Happy

What I haven't tried is anything like ultra violet (as I ain't got that!).

I switched between thinking 'that sounds pretty tasty' and 'I wonder if that would work? Perhaps there is some kinda hot garlic invisible ink'.

Shocked

Darn, I was hoping the text (if any) would be readable with a magnifying glass. I have no idea how small they can make text these days though.
