[SPEC] awncers to cards forming a sentence?

just got home from school and was thinking about the puzzle crads and came up with a theory. With all the card 1-? they will persumaly have a word or phrase in some way (even if you have to use the card info to find a site ect.) if you put all of the awncers into a sentence or phrase this may give us vital information. I also though the as the crads get harder such as the silver cards there will be more importent info but less of it and these clues may be the icing on the cake as it were to solving the location of the R. Cube
what do you guys think feel free to move this thread if needed.

Adam

Right. Can't think of an easy way to answer this, but will try...

If I understood you post correctly, your saying that the solves we get for each card will add up to muchos information?

Could be, but we do know that you will be able to enter the solves into a yet to be revealed system on Perplexcity.com, which will earn you Perplex City Points. A scoreboard will keep then track of these for your fun and amusement!

For a discussion on how this might work, go here.

So, to sum up, I don't think that we will get any meaningful clues from arranging the solves, but I could be wrong!

Oh, and could you correct your sig to 'minutes' please, it scrapes the blackboard of my soul everytime I read it Very Happy

I dunno, so far some of our answers have been pretty obscure. I don't know how you'd fit BCAFD into a sentence, or all those computer names, or A+7.

But perhaps all of the silver card answers make a sentence, or perhaps the first letter of all the answers or something like that. Unfortunatly we won't know until June Wink

Hmmm, I'm not sure your spec is quite there because it's going to be hundreds of words long if it's correct. But perhaps you're onto something - maybe it's the solutions to the quartets of cards that form a longer sentence.

And Muffin - maybe he really means that he did 10 dances whilst thinking of a sig Wink

Very Happy Very true. Or maybe its a currency, which you can specifically spend in machines that help your think. Although maybe this one was broken Wink

I think you are on the right track, but I am not sure it would be the individual card answers that combine, as that would be too obvious and easy. It is probably something a bit more subtle. For instance, if you remember the Whipsmart Wordsearch looks like it has partial letters up top (maybe a Z and an I?), very nearly transparent. This is the top-left corner of a set, meaning the rest of the letters (assuming they exist) are part of a different color or set.

My theory on this was that, if you wanted, you could be extremely devious. We know that the cards are being created by different members of the specialist recovery team, and that they seem to set puzzles across the board, as it were (so, there's are red cards written by Anna, blue cards written by her etc. - at least, I assume so, on the evidence we've accrued so far). So, maybe, there would be a message/set of clues connected to this across the cards sets. Or several separate messages. Or maybe the message would have nothing to do with colour coding, but something to do with the themes of the puzzles. And maybe there is no 'wider' message at all. Clearly, it'll be more obvious once all the cards start being interpreted.

On the one hand, I can see a good reason for the cards to offer no more than 'background' to the main game - it's probably the best way for Mind Candy to play it, inasmuch as 1) a sizeable number of traditional ARGers will feel more satisfied with the possibility that they can still play the game without having bought the cards and continue to contribute to it and 2) there may be a sizeable set of 'floating' players out there who may buy, collect and swap the cards without taking too much interest in the ARG proper (everyone seemed to be having fun with the puzzles at the E3 convention). Adrian Hon's comments on the card - ARG relationship seemed to imply that they would be separate things.

On the other hand, Mind Candy have also stated that the aim of the game is to institute the most dramatic example yet of cross - media ARGing, and what better way than to make the cards contribute at different 'levels' of significance, depending on whether purchasers are playing for points, or in order to help solve the overall mystery.

So, in short, could be...

the answers to all the cards could form a larger text but it would depend what was in that text as to whether it would be in character with the rest of the story or not.
if we are to believe that perplexians (with special guests) made up these puzzles and therefore the answers and therefore the larger text, and we are also to believe that the perplexians do not know where the cube is, then if the larger text told us where the cube was it would kinda break the story and not make sense in-game.

rach =)

That's a reasonable call, I think, from an in - game perspective. Naturally, if the cards are then just a 'distraction tactic/filler material', it makes you wonder where the next significant contribution to the ARG is going to come from though!

But hey, that's all part of the fun...
