You all do realize that he's a demon from hell, right? That his idea of showing a girl a good time probably involves a tour of the rooms where souls are eternally tortured... followed by a dinner of carrion from some battle.
Heh, I mean if you like that kind of stuff, don't let me tell you what to do... just thought I'd point it out and ruin all your fun.
Oddly enough, I find that greatly attractive...
Er.
But I do agree with Mossy, that he seems too elegant to do such things.

Yeah, the demon from hell bit has that whole bad-boy thing going for him.
No, let me rephrase that. 'Bad-boys' seem more... sloppy to me. The Tall Man is the precising villan. Which totally suits my tastes.

And, after all, I thought the whole point to this mess is our tall, dark and possibly handsome demon has a very incovenient half of a human soul that's been making him feel rather uncomfortable in hell. So he's got to be capable of a few human emotions (probably chiefly guilt, given that whole hellfire thing) on some level.
Possibly even love.

Besides, why would he want to eat carrion? I see that as more of a food for minions. (Yeah, I know he's not exactly the Devil himself or anything, nor a prince, but... he's not exactly a screaming little goblin creature, either.)
Isn't he a prince, though? I cannot, for the life of me, find either the thread with the link or the actual story itself, but wasn't the origin of the Tall Man (the Xazlael story, not the Native American version) that he was a prince of hell who was cast out in exile or something?
Sorry, I have a horrible memory and might be wrong on this one (it's happened before), and it doesn't really matter in the long run, but just wondering if someone else remembered that.

Mm... Yeah, I can't find the links either...
But hey! Looks like he may be a Fey on top of everything else. By a prince of hell... I just kinda ment that he wasn't in a really high-up tip-top position. When you think of it, there must be a gazillion princes of hell... So... Yeah... What am I talking about at this point?!
Ah, hell. I dunno.

He's the son of the Prince of Carrion something or another... I'm not sure the sons of princes are also princes, but they are something royal.
I highly doubt he has any guilt, sorry folks, or any human emotions beyond those that are attached to pursuing the half soul for his own freedom.

Pursuit & the emotions that come with it are not exclusive to humans.

Aaah! I see!
On another topic: what's so wrong with him wanting a soul? He wouldn't be doing many of the things he is if he had one. But he -wants- a soul. He wants to be human. He can't get one in a humane way, because if humans = living things with souls, then he's only half human... and the other half is demon/fae. It isn't his fault that he can't get one in the ideal way... if he was really and truly evil, he wouldn't be trying to get one at all.

That's the Black Mage from the Final Fantasy Series (though that particular look is from the first in the games, you see similar designs in several other iterations of the series). The particular gif was put up quite awhile ago by the person who runs www.NuklearPower.com which is a Final Fantasy 1 webcomic (I don't recall if he made it or someone made it for him). I've had it for several years, it is good for distracting people so I can win the debate I am having with them.
Keep watching him... Keep watching him... See him dance... Dance with him... yes... that's right... keep going... Now say that I am right and that you conceide any and all points we were debating about...
Muwahahahah...ahaha...haha!
